Although I’ve participated in quite a few online conference calls over the past years I’ve never actually paid much attention to related peripherals. However since as of late some of you have asked for reviews of such devices i started scouting around to see which manufacturers have them in their product lines. The fact however that most of you are not really looking to spend much on such devices gave me a hard time since finding something to fit that description without of course sacrificing quality was not an easy task. Luckily our friends over at Jabra don't only carry Bluetooth and wired earsets/headsets in their product lines but they also manufacture high quality professional/enterprise class VOIP (Voice Over IP) compatible products such as the SPEAK 410 USB Speakerphone we have here with us today.
Recently released on the market was Samsung's DA-E750 wireless audio dock. Where most audio docks fall short by only supporting maybe one or two different protocols, the DA-E750 supports them all, including; mini USB dock, iPhone/iPad dock, Bluetooth, Airplay, AllShare Play, USB and network playback and of course an auxiliary input too. The DA-E750 has also taken a radically different design approach than most audio docks and looks more like something you'd buy at a boutique audio shop instead of your local electronics store. With a price tag only marginally higher than some high end audio docks on the market, the DA-E750 looks as though it could find itself with many uses around the home, so let's see what it's all about!
The Kraken Pro Analog Gaming Headset was a product that I received after competing in the annual Tiger Direct PC Race. Only after the event was over and all the hoopla from CES calmed down did we decide that the Kraken Pro was one of the products we received that we legitimately wanted to review. Razer has a history of making wild claims regarding PC products, i.e. The Razer Blade: The World’s First Gaming Laptop or the Razer Edge Pro: The World’s First Gaming Tablet but with the Kraken Pro they are making a claim based on one of the most subjective topics in product reviews…comfort. The Kraken Pro has a lot to live up to, especially when you make a claim like that, so let’s see how it holds up.
Today we got a chance to review House of Marley's Redemption On ear headphones, which are one of the three most premium models they offer. Through recycling and sound quality, they made these beauties that are in Rasta-colors and leather. Furthermore they encourage you to recycle the packaging which shows their commitment to their product.
Scythe have finally released their latest amplifier iteration, which can provide more power and takes two 5,25 inch bays if we decide to install it inside our computer. The product is also shipped with a very useful remote, which permits us to switch between the inputs, adjust the Equalizer and more.
April is almost over and so the time has finally come for most of us to start making preparations and plans for our summer vacations (although personally I’ll be happy if i can manage to leave for just a week). This might be also why many friends and even some of you out there have asked from us to increase our reviews regarding mobile audio devices like Bluetooth headsets and speakers something which as you can easily see we've been doing already. However to satisfy that request we are working around the clock to acquire and test such devices from all the leading manufacturers in the field. One such manufacturer is Tech-Life (yet quite new) and today we will be taking a look at their BeatBlock Premium Bluetooth Wireless Speaker which according to them is the most advanced of its kind currently in the market.
It makes me very happy today to have another Wavemaster product back in the office and after the big success that we had testing their Mx3+, Moody and Moby products, I have high hopes of seeing similarly high performance for a low cost from the products were looking at today.
On the test bench are the Wavemaster Dakota headphones, I have two pairs to play around with but other than colour they're technically the same headset, one is black, the other is white and with a price of around £25 they're set to be affordable audio products aimed at the general consumer audio market, where you expect them to be significantly better than the junk you find bundled with a lot of audio products but also significantly cheaper than enthusiast grade hardware. Of course at this price range, I'm not going to be expecting the most earth shattering performance from these headphones, but £25 is still a tidy investment for headphones and I'll still expect to see good build quality, decent audio performance and some style, anything else will be a welcome bonus in working out the value for money on this set.
Wavemaster has not long launched here in the UK, but they've already proven them selves to be one of the most popular audio brands in Germany and that trend seems to be continuing here in the UK as places like Overclockers.co.uk have started to stock and promote their products.
Whether it’s for listening to music, watching movies or playing games (or all of the above especially at night) a good quality headset is always one of the very few investments one can make that will probably last for a long time to come. Now as some of you know it's extremely rare for me to spend time testing basically the same product twice and when i say extremely rare i really mean it since it has happened only once so far in all the years i've been testing electronics and PC hardware. And style and usefulness are really the strong points about the Fly, which marks Gigabyte's entry on the audio scene.
