The LG IPS237L-BN is an excellent monitor, that's definitely worth your consideration if you need a new 23-inch screen. That said, its performance is not quite on the level of the 27-inch IPS277L-BN. This is true for the brightness from different viewing angles, the colour temperature, colour fidelity and gamma values.

If you want a touch monitor for your desktop PC, this is the cheapest option we've seen, and in that light this isn't a bad screen as long you're aware of its limitations. It could even be a fun project for modding or home automation. For this price you won't find any smaller touchscreens either, and most others cost at least twice as much.

In the past year or so flat panel monitor prices have entered free-fall, with massive 27″ displays widely available for under $300. Given that, why would anyone even consider spending over $1,500 on a somewhat larger 30″ display? Lenovo has lent Benchmark Reviews one of their ThinkVision LT3053p units to review, so let’s see what all that extra money buys you.

The Lenovo ThinkVision LT1421 14" portable widescreen LCD monitor gives mobile professionals a second screen for on-the-go use for displaying spreadsheets and making presentations. The mobile monitor works great for ad hoc meetings in places like hotel lobbies or cafes that lack access to a projector and even for extra screen space for work that requires multitasking on the go.

We can recommend the Samsung LS24C750 without any reservations for practically anything. Especially for photo and video editing it's a great monitor, and the high color fidelity and deep contrast make just looking at photos and videos a joy.

We were definitely impressed by the Philips Gioco 278G4DHSD. It's a jack-of-all trades. You can use it for video and photo editing, for gaming, for watching (3D) movies and of course for your standard software. It's stronger in some departments than others, but very good in general.

For a long time very high resolution displays were reserved for tablets, smartphones and, to a certain extent, laptops. As we're approaching 2014, signs are more promising now for desktop monitors as well. WQHD models are becoming more affordable and various manufacturers have announced new 4K or UHD screens for 2014. Dell announced no less than three monitors that boast a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels. We tested the 24-inch model, the UltraSharp U2414Q. Dell managed to raise the bar very high right away.

Dell have always had a reputation for creating some of the finest monitors on the market. While they do make a wide array of panels for the mass market audience, they have always focused on the high end technology. Their U2410 has received a lot of critical acclaim, earning a top award on KitGuru, and they have also recently released the U2711, a 27 inch panel which features IPS technology.

We reviewed the BenQ RL2450HT. This 24-inch monitor was developed together with gamers, and that is also the intended target audience. The display has very fast response times along with some game-specific features, but if you’re not a gamer there are more affordable options out there that are better in other aspects.
