The Samsung UN55D8000 delivers exceptional performance in all categories from looks, features, power consumption and picture quality. Some may argue there are some color uniformity issues but in my eyes that was not a problem. The design is stunning with the minimalistic bezel making the TV look like all picture. The life-like picture quality was great with accurate colors and the 3D processing seems to have taken a huge leap in the right direction. The SMART HUB offers a ton of great widgets with the Web Browser being my favourite thanks to the fully functional QWERTY keyboard remote.

The UN55ES8000 is definitely a stunning TV when you see it in any living room. The new stand matches the almost invisible bezel making the TV a work of art even when not powered up. With a price point of under $2500, it is actually priced almost five hundred less than the Panasonic and a full grand less than Sony’s on Futureshop. This may seem shocking for a TV of such caliber and high caliber it is

The Sharp PN-K321H is a phenomenal monitor, there's no question about that. The test results don't do a good job of showing how impressive this monitor really is. You need to stand in front of it. The details you can see in high-resolution photos is astounding, and the huge amount of extra workspace is great for complex software with lots of toolbars and windows. It's a unique product, even if ASUS will soon release its own 4K monitor and others are sure to follow. Sharp is currently the only manufacturer of IGZO 4K panels, so you will likely be seeing more of these.

Our phones have become indispensible, they’re a huge part of our lives, they go with us everywhere, and they’ve become much more than just phones. Sony has decided to make them even more useful with the addition of a second screen called the LiveView that works with most any Android phone. The LiveView is a 1.3” Color OLED screen that has a ton of uses like checking your email, reading text messages, and checking Twitter and Facebook updates. The LiveView can be clipped most anywhere or worn as a watch. It can allow you to control your phone from a distance with the many plug-ins available for it like controlling your media player or even dialing your phone. It’s a very unique and rather useful little device

While I have not yet and may never recover from my addiction to having the Biggest Fastest Most Expensive computer parts I can afford, the experience I've gained writing for this website over the past year or so has hammered home the lesson that most of the time, I'm just wasting my money. And you probably are, too.

We hope you've been enjoying our series of Beginner's Guides for HTPC and Home Theater. As part of the series, we’ve previously discussed video resolutions and how video information is displayed on a screen for a frame of video in our guide, Video Resolutions for Beginners. What we didn’t delve into much was the rate at which video frames are captured, or, in other words, the video frame rate. This guide will cover the basics of frame rates and how displays deal with the frame rates. We’ll try to cut through the marketing buzzwords like 120Hz, 240Hz, 600Hz sub-field drive, etc. so that you can make a more informed decision when purchasing your next display and how to insure an optimal viewing experience.
