There are a huge number of review sites out there and to be frank they are filled with lazy writers who will do the minimum required to get an article out… and editors who only care about hits (money) and not the quality of the work. On occasion the same lazy writers are also the money focused editors and that is never a good mix. That’s before we even consider those who fabricate testing and plagiarise others work.Today we are going to look at GPU reviews specifically, taking a look at what WE feel makes for a quality review and why.

Being a hardware enthusiast means different things to different people and usually dictates their interpretation of what it takes to be an enthusiast. For the purposes of this article we're going to assume a hardware enthusiast is someone who is passionate about computer components and is not afraid to push things beyond spec. This person will typically assemble systems using the best components they can buy and will often swap out components with the purpose of getting better performance, theoretical or otherwise.

A few days after our review of the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T, we received a call from AMD. The call was some commentary on the actual review (okay, really it was of complaints). The first thing that was said was that we were wrong in our premise that we needed more voltage to get higher clocks on the PII X6. At the time of this writing we cannot debate this claim. AMD maintains that their silicon is mature enough that the CPU does not need extra voltage to attain higher speeds. The claim about maturity is true; the Phenom II CPU is a very mature design (bordering on old in CPU terms). It is also being made in FABs that have the lowest failure rate in the world.

The PlayStation Vita is a great device for portable gaming but it’s not perfect by any means. I got mine at launch and in that time I’ve used it quite a bit and I’ve noticed many things both good and bad. Don’t get me wrong, I like the PS Vita, but there are some things that I don’t care for. So this started out as sort of a top ten list, a list of things that aren’t that great about the PS Vita. These are things that I’ve noticed in my time with it, and it’s a lot more than ten sadly. So are obvious, some aren’t, some are big and some are small, some people might find them a reason not to buy one, and some people might not care. We all know nothing is perfect though, most every device and gadget sounds much better in reviews and promotional material than it does when you actually get it in your hands. So read on to see what I found or think is wrong with the PS Vita…..

As more and more people are transferring there media to their home pc’s and using the likes of Windows Media Centre, Media Portal or XBMC to name a few, I wanted to find a low resource media meta manager that could provide me with an easy to use folder structure for my films that would also provide me with artwork, folder renaming, renaming of film titles and also give me synopsis information, within my chosen media player, in my case Windows Media Center.
