Think excitement - Think Spedo! At least that's Thermaltakes' spin on it. But what's in a name anyway? Well, a lot less than what's packed inside this Spedo... Spedo Advance Package gaming chassis that is. Name aside this case at first glance appears to have a lot going for it. It has a laundry list that would rival St. Nicks naughty/nice list in length, items such as Advanced Thermal Chambers (A.T.C. 3) and Cable Routing Management (C.R.M. 3). Is all this stuff needed or is this a gimmick? Benchmark Reviews will take a closer look at the outwardly impressive Spedo Advanced Package full tower case (model VI90001W2Z) and see if this is eye candy or the real deal. My hopes are high as this is really the first case that I've reviewed that has many of missing elements on my cons list of previous chassis reviews.

Today for review I've got the Thermaltake Max4 3.5" SATA HDD Rack which is the kind of rack that I prefer, it does not use a tray, all you do is put the hard drive in, close the door and you're done. The Max4 isn't really fancy, no LCD display on it, no built-in cooling fan, it's basic and simple, which is nice as you don't have to worry about parts breaking down or failing on you. Though since it doesn't have a fan one might worry about its ability to keep your hard drive cool, you don't have to, I've found that it works just as well as a rack that does have a fan built in. Read on to learn more about an excellent choice for an HDD rack that's simple and easy to use.

At the 2008 CES, Thermaltake introduced a novel idea in the category of external storage, the hard drive dock. The BlacX dock supported either 2½" or 3½" SATA drives via a hot-swap, plug-in interface and featured USB 2.0 connectivity. It was an instant success. Although many other manufacturers would soon develop their own versions of the external drive dock, Thermaltake continued to refine their original design with subsequent models that added support for a 4-port USB hub, dual drives and finally eSATA. The item we have for review today represents the latest in the evolution of Thermaltake's drive dock, the BlacX 5G.

Whether it’s improving airflow, upgrading a cooler or choosing the right thermal grease, everyone has a different good reason to optimize his/her system temperature. How low can you go? That’s the question I’m going to look at today, in a TIM (Thermal Interface Material) round-up. Thermal grease – or just ‘grease’ as I’ll call it from now on – is a prominent TIM in the computer industry. I’ll compare seven high-end greases to investigate where you would be best off spending on improved cooling.
