During the launch event for his own range of systems, KitGuru was lucky enough to get the chance to sit (well, stand) with Ian “8Pack” Parry and ask him a few questions about his range of ultra high end systems, his professional overclocking career, and himself – as a person.

Inside the retail packaging you’ll instantly see the directions and there are just three simple steps to get started. You just need to plug the HDMI dongle into an HDTV, switch to that HDMI input and then go to a website to being the setup process to connect it to your existing local wireless (Wi-Fi) network. Besides plugging in the Chromecast the first time, you shouldn’t ever need to touch it again. Everything else from this point on is controlled with your computer, smartphone, or tablet...

Childhood is quite a mystery. We breeze across this period suppressed by greater powers (Parents or guardians) in our struggle to gain an abundant amount of sweet treats and rad toys. We swear to ourselves that one day we will have complete control over our lives, to which we can buy an infinite amount of ice cream without the consent of this greater authority. Little do we know, a blink of an eye brings us to our juvenile adolescent period in which the pursuit of such childhood dreams becomes nullified by what Katy Perry refers as the "Teenage Dream" (Horny teens in puberty, haha). If you are a regular reader here at APH Networks, than you know of the crazy biweekly LAN parties that consist of various headshots; it's also the only time I get to pwn my boss without getting fired. However, what we have not told you here at APH is that we tend to make midnight trips to the grocery store in search of ice cream. That is not to say that we are a bunch of immature children that are only in pursuit of sweets and games. It simply means we like the midnight drag race that goes with it (Just kidding). Let's just say we like to go back to our own roots. In fact, recently, I received an interesting review unit that also goes back to its childhood -- the Sentry Mesh fan controller by NZXT. We here are all familiar NZXT's chassis that include basic fan controllers or their more fancy LCD touch screen controllers. However, something we just have not seen is a basic 5.25" slide switch fan controller. Itching to find out what our thoughts are? Read on to... you know the drill.

We’ve spent pretty much all our free time this week using the Intel NUC Kit D54250WYK and if you couldn’t tell from our review, we love the new design and the Intel 4th Generation Core i5-4250U Haswell processor that powers it. In our review we showed you the general performance of the system running at stock speeds. The one question that we didn’t answer at that time is how it performs when overclocked. There aren’t too many things that you can overclock on the NUC since the CPU multiplier and bus speeds are locked down, but we can overclock the DDR3 memory. In the past overclocking the memory clock frequency has yielded some pretty good results for memory bandwidth limited applications and gaming benchmarks. Read on to see how the Intel NUC Kit D54250WYK performs with 1866MHz memory!

"This is a super quick how-to guide from Frostytech on modding the Ultra Products U12-40659 Carbon X4 multisocket VGA cooler fan power cable so it can be connected to a normal sized 3-pin fan header common to most videocards and motherboards. Now normally Frostytech wouldn't waste our time with a guide to making a fan jumper cable, but because Ultra Products don't list the electrical pin outs in the manual, and the power cables aren't colour coded to reveal this information, the mod is just tricky enough that a few of you will find this really helpful."

This article delves into the new UEFI architecture and why it is much more important to the computer world than you think. Computer hardware has evolved a great deal in the past few decades. Graphics cards and sound cards are providing life-like graphics and theater quality sound, terabyte size spindle hard drives are being paired with blazing fast SSD drives for limitless storage for the common user, while huge quantities of RAM and CPUs are providing six- (soon eight-) cores for incredible multi-tasking capabilities. Rounding out all that hardware is the motherboard, the backbone of your system.

There is an answer to those two problems when using an audio-video (AV) capture solution. Today, we’ll be examining the AVerMedia AVerTV USB HD DVR which, like the Hauppauge Colossus we reviewed, is an AV capture solution that can handle both SD and HD video and can be utilized not just to work with HTPC DVR software, but also to capture any type of video for applications such as recording video gameplay, video stored on a camcorder or VHS tape, etc.

In 1995, a Texas business man bought the rights for the DeLorean brand and all the inventory of the short-lived company. Through the DeLorean Motor Company you can buy an original 1982 DeLorean DMC-12, buy a brand new DeLorean, built from scratch using new parts, or repair your used DMC-12. If this story wasn\'t amazing enough, a guy built a replica of the DeLorean used in the Back to the Future movies and is selling at eBay for USD 450,000. Yes, you read it right. According to the owner, it took him eight years to complete the project. The replica is really impressive (see video below), but c\'mon the original K.I.T.T. was sold for USD 30,000. PS: yes, if I had space to put them I\'d buy both KITT and a DMC-12.
