Legit Reviews jumped onto the 4K bandwagon back in 2013 with the Sharp PN-K321 32-inch class 4K LED-Backlit display. At the time this monitor was around $3500 and the display defaulted to 30 Hz, which meant that games weren’t smooth. In order to produce a 4K Ultra HD display with a more user friendly 60Hz refresh rate, monitor makers are moving over to a single stream (single tile) implementation. This means that as long as you are using DisplayPort 1.2-capable graphics solution that you should be able to just plug and play. There is just a single stream to be had, so the video card driver issues that once plagued so many are gone and 3840x2160 at a 60 Hz refresh rate should be standard. One of the first displays to support for 4K resolutions at 60Hz via DisplayPort's Single-Stream Transport (SST) mode is the ASUS PB287Q. Read on to see what the ASUS PB287Q has to offer.

Have you ever wondered if using air cooling for your computer will be effective in the future with all the concern about global warming? What exactly is causing global warming is up for debate; however, it would be hard for anyone to ignore the climate change we are seeing today. While I don't think global warming is a fair reason to ignore the benefit of adding fans to your chassis, it leaves me wondering how much benefit it will really provide in the future, unless you live in an air conditioned home. What we have here at APH Networks this morning is a set of SilenX's Effizio EFX-12-15 case fans, which will be put through our usual array of rigorous testing. This time around, however, we will be doing three times the normal amount of testing. Why? Well, we have not one, not two, but three fans for us to play with today. This means I will be able to easily see what these fans are capable of doing. Considering they come from a company called SilenX, I hope these fans are dead silent, or I'll be requesting the company change their name, haha. If you are quiet computer enthusiast, you know silence comes with a price tag, but will these fans prove even silence can come at an affordable cost? Well, read on to find out the answer. Oddly enough, I can't help but think about how these fans will be contributing to global warming; this is because the electricity generated here in Calgary is from coal power. Nevertheless, a few extra watts for each fan is not going to cause "The Day After Tomorrow" or "2012", but if it does, don't be blaming me!

Point-and-shoots are great for several occasions, but most fall short in low lighting. With larger sensors helping to combat this problem, a fast lens can also do wonders for low light photography. Samsung has updated its EXF series with an f/1.4 lens, making shooting in low light almost comparable to a budget range DSLR. We find the Samsung EX2F very unique in a sea of point-and-shoot cameras, aptly displayed by the addition of Wi-Fi compatibility for easy sharing over a wide gamut of devices. A modest 12.4 megapixels seems to marry the sensor/aperture, for a properly exposed image with minimum noise at low ISO. Finally, the intuitive menu system that anyone can master, coupled with a brilliant varied-angled AMOLED screen makes the EX2F a very alluring pocket sized camera.

We tested 32 powerline adapters, and compared the different models in a round-up. Last year we also tested 30 powerline adapters, but most of those were 200Mbps models. This time around, most were 500Mbps adapters, so it was interesting to find out if it’s worth getting the more powerful (and more expensive) type. We compared the performance of 200Mbps and 500Mbps models over short and long distances, and with added interference. The results weren’t exactly what you would expect.
