If you own a Digital SLR camera you know how much it set you back and you want to keep it nice and safe when you are out shooting. Since I bought my first Digital SLR camera I had a backpack to go with it. Camera backpacks provide great protection for not only your camera, but normally they have room for extra lenses and other accessories. I have quite a few different larger backpacks, but if I’m just going out quickly I don’t want to be hauling a large bag around with me. I’ve always been a fan of sling-type Backpack’s, and having one that can protect and hold me camera is a plus. Today we are taking a look at Caselogic’s SLR Sling Camera Backpack. This backpack features a patent pending hammock suspension system that suspends your SLR above the bottom of case, providing superior impact protection. Let’s jump right in!

Action cams have become very popular in recent times. They're very compact so they're easy to bring with you on vacation and smaller outings. They're so light you can mount them on clothing or a helmet, and tons of accessories and expansions exist for these products. The cameras have a fixed, light-sensitive lens with a very wide 170-degree angle. This enables them to capture everything that's happening in the foreground. Today we will compare the GoPro Hero 3, Sony Actioncam and Isaw A2 ACE action cameras.

If you've ever visited technology trade shows like Gadget Show Live, the Consumer Electronics Show and so on, then you will always hear that "Smart TVs" are the way of the future. Smart TVs are internet connected, can download, organise and play your favourite media content from the internet, can integrate your social media life into your entertainment and offer a wide variety of apps to do things that "normal" TVs wouldn't normally be able to do.
However, if you've stayed connected to what's going on with the latest gadgets then you will know that Smart TVs aren't catching on as fast as most people might like, and as a result the prices are still high. That is where today's product, the XIOS DS Media Play! from Pivos, comes in. The XIOS DS unit from Pivos bridges the gap between your standard HDMI TV to the much more expensive "Smart TV" without requiring that you buy a new TV. In its simplest form it can be described as an Android Media Player but it does bring support for the open source media player application XBMC, although XBMC is still only in Beta for this product despite this being out since early 2012.
Being a budget orientated Android Media player the Pivos XIOS DS isn't going to bring any super high end features to the table, that we would expect to find on expensive tablets and smartphones, but it should prove capable of playing music, video clips, films and doing other light tasks that will help turn your TV into a Smart TV.
So without any further ado let us proceed through this review.

With some manufacturers we are lucky enough to get a screen protector bundled to enhance the protection offered by scratch resistant glass but its really the bare minimum in terms of device protection. Thats where companies like Tech21 are useful with their range of cases for some of the most popular smartphones. Today we have their Samsung Galaxy S3 Impact Case with cover to look at.

Sliding horizontally over the touchpad will change the pitch over a range of octaves while vertical movement affects aspects of the tone such as filter cutoff, feedback, or modulation depth.

Fan controllers are products that we are definitely getting a lot more into these days having already taken a look at Phobya’s Touch 6 and Lamptron’s CW611. Today we are taking a look at another fan controller from Phobya’s range of fan controllers and we have their newly released MaxGuide 6 Dual (5.25″) Bay fan controller. Like a lot of fan controllers that are available on the market today the Phobya MaxGuide 6 Dual Bay fan controller is manufactured by Sunshine Tipway Electronics (STW for short) and resold by Phobya in the UK, North American and European markets. This particular Phobya fan controller is based on the STW-6048 while the Phobya Touch 6 we looked at was based on the STW-6050 and as far as I am aware the NZXT Sentry Mesh is based off the STW-6051 (but I may be wrong, though the resemblance is striking).
In most cases companies will just take these Chinese built and manufactured units, rebrand them and then add on a margin for themselves. However, Phobya are more or less offering them for the same price it would cost the consumer/user to import it from China, and you have the peace of mind that it comes with a Phobya warranty. For this I respect Phobya but it was necessary to bring it to your attention and this is something consumers should be aware of – that is where and how your goods are made.
In terms of specifications you can find those here on the STW website or here on the Aquatuning website (who sell the EU/UK/NA version that you and I are likely to buy). The main features about this fan controller are that it has 6 channels support 36W each, multiple card readers (CF/SD/MMC/MS/M2/TF), a USB 3.0 port, a 3.7 inch LCD display and a fully metal construction. Without any further ado let us move through and take a closer look at this unit.
