So I needed another switch for my network, wi-fi is nice but it’s not the best I prefer a wired network especially since I’ve already got the wires running all over the place. I wanted a well made switch so I opted to get one with a metal housing from TRENDnet, specifically the TEG-S50G which is from their GREENnet line meaning it’s supposed to use less power than others on the market and saving money anywhere I can is a good thing. This specific switch is the 3.0R version or it’s the latest one available and it’s a five port gigabit switch that’s very simple to use as it’s really just plug-and-play truly. I have another ‘green’ switch from D-Link and I’ve put that up against the TEG-S50G for comparison, so read on to learn more…

Welcome to another Case Mod Friday showcase! This week we have Chris McDermott's "The Dual" build. Here is what he had to say about it: The Dual was just an idea from a lan party with my first build in the Elysium case, and a comment of ' the case is so big you could fit TWO computers in side.'. Well that got me thinking and well a lot of measuring and modding, on the inside, I want to keep the outsode looking the same, and you can see the end result. As for the rads, well I needed to go external with the water and when i saw these rads i just had to have a pair of them to make sure it was The Dual.

The PCE-N15 Wireless-N PCI-E Adapter from Asus provides a way to alleviate some of the tangled monstrosity that is networking. The PCE-N15 Wireless-N adapter boasts a top speed of 300Mbps and dual antennas that operate on different frequencies to help deal with areas that have a lot of other Wi-Fi networks. It all seems like the standard affair for a wireless-N card these days, except for nifty little mode called "Software AP" which allows it to act as an access point for other devices on your network. This way you can either extend your existing network or add wireless without more cables and a new router.

Certain products come to market in a big way and are known to the consumer world as the products of the future and this is very much the case with dual GPU based graphics cards like Nvidia’s GTX 690 and AMD’s 7990. Focusing on the Radeon HD 7990, a lot of system manufacturer’s including DinoPC were keen to snap up as much stock as they could and to create some award winning systems that would leave even the most hardcore gamers with their jaws on the floor, and that’s exactly what we have here today.
DinoPC have sent along a system incorporating the latest Intel Haswell architecture with a XFX Radeon HD 7990 at the heart of it. No matter what games you throw at this bad boy, you’ll definitely be able to crank up the settings and enjoy the show and with other high-end matching components accompanying it, the rig from the offset seems to be a winner, but of course this will all come down to the performance on hand, and whether this £2000 gaming system is worth the hefty price tag that some consumers are willing to pay.
Before we get into the performance side of things, we want to take a look at the full specifications of the system as it arrived with us. Once we have this underway, we can take a look at what DinoPC have to offer in terms of added extras and the little touches that a system integrator give you opposed to buying the parts and building it yourself. After that, we can focus on the main #point of why you’re reading this review, and that all comes down to the raw compute power across CPU, memory, SSD and graphic intensive benchmarks. We can also tinker with the overclock to see if any extra performance can be squeezed out of the system without compromising other key important areas like voltages and temperatures.
Known as the T-Rex 7990, the name certainly means business, and remember this can be customised further than this to cater for your own specific needs, if you require extra storage space, or different memory. The joy of buying a system from DinoPC is that everything is custom to exactly what the consumer wants, and tailored for you.

It’s been years since I’ve bought a pre-built desktop computer, so I was interested in the opportunity to check out the Erazer X700 Gaming System that Lenovo offered to us to review. The Erazer occupies a space between the sub-$500 generic boxes most people are satisfied with and the expensive boutique systems at the other end of the scale.

Our lives have become very social oriented and we’ve got cameras with us all the time anymore and we seem to be recording just about everything and I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not personally. Today for review I’ve got the MeCam which resembles a big button that you might wear on your shirt or coat, but it’s really a 720p HD mini video camera so you can record life as you live it. The MeCam also has a 5mp still camera built-in along with infrared LEDs so it can work in low light situations and uses a standard microSD card for storage. The camera can be purchased in varying storage capacities and there are several different colors to pick from. Read on..

Up until a few weeks ago I wasn't aware of JunPus a thermal compound company based in Taiwan, as I am sure most of you were not either. This gave me little to go on going into the review, but after I applied their nano-diamond thermal paste and ran our load tests I was impressed to say the least.

It's no secret that if you require the best possible internet access both in terms of performance and security then your best option is obviously to use a wired connection. Wireless connections are obviously the only choice when on the road so no one can really deny their usefulness but the current level of technology isn't close to providing the same data transfer speeds and security one can enjoy by using a wired one so until that changes we also prefer to follow that path. Because of that Powerline adapters have become quite popular amongst consumers who want to extend either their home or business network and although still not perfect since they rely much on the quality of the structures electrical grid they do offer a great alternative to using extra cables and WiFi. We've already reviewed quite a few such devices but today it's our very first encounter with one manufactured by Linksys the PLEK500 500Mbps Powerline Homeplug AV2 Kit (contains two PLE500 adapters).
