The form factor has changed significantly as well, to a sleek device around the size of most modern home theater “streamers,” but the functionality promised (i.e. small, quiet, efficient MCX) when used with WMC has not. This is an important point to note when examining the Echo on its own, because much of the previous coverage also included mention of Ceton’s Q (a TiVo like device) which, had it survived the summer, could have provided additional capability beyond what is possible from the standard MCX experience. With firmware releases bringing new functionality and fixes every few days it has proved difficult to nail down a definitive snapshot of the Echo’s long term capabilities; as retail availability is now upon us it is time to build on our first look and provide a current state update for the device.

Anker is a company that knows and understands power banks and power solutions. The Astro Slim2 is a great example of Anker’s work and ability to help you with your power needs throughout the day. This power bank is a very smart not only in design, but also in function. The integrated Micro USB cable is an extremely nice touch, as it helps keep annoying wires out of the way when recharging devices (namely your phone). The dual recharging ports are a great added feature for those who may carry around two phones, such as myself, or those who want to help a friend out in need.

Portable gaming, mobile phones, GPS navigation units, digital audio players, Bluetooth headsets -- these are all devices we often use on a daily basis (Well, probably not the gaming part, but I would be interested to know what your day job is if that is indeed the case). When we are on the bus, we often pull out the latest gadgets to keep us occupied until we reach our destination. When we do business with our clients, we rely on our smartphones for our on-the-go communication needs. The worst part about traveling to unknown parts of the city is getting lost, so bringing along a portable GPS along would be extremely helpful. But these are just a few examples on how much we rely on these devices every day. Unfortunately, all of them come down to a single common denominator: The battery. Needless to say, when you run out of juice, no matter how high tech your stuff is, you are pretty much out of luck. A few months ago, we reviewed the Choiix Power Fort, a portable charger designed to get your energy-drained electronics up and running again even when an AC power outlet is not readily available. Choiix has come up with yet another creation, but this time, it is smaller and lighter. Much like the original Power Fort, the Choiix Power Fort 5.5 charges all the most common devices we possess. The "5.5" signifies its 5.5WHr battery. From Bluetooth headsets to gaming devices, the Choiix Power Fort 5.5 packs a 1500 mAh Li-Po battery, which is enough for your stuff to last throughout the day. But how does this little guy compare to its brother, which packs a larger 2700 mAh battery? Read on to see how these two compare!

The whole idea behind Gigabyte’s BRIX ultra compact PC kit’s are to give you a functional PC with an extremely small form factor. This makes them perfect for a media or internet machine. Their small size means you can put them pretty much anywhere as well. While the BRIX systems have been out for a while the BRIX projector is a newer product that takes a BRIX ultra compact PC Kit and adds a micro-projector for a complete and very cool setup. It is actually quite impressive that Gigabyte has been able to fit a projector right on top of the BRIX, making it not much larger than the normal version. The Gigabyte BRIX Projector that we are taking a look at today is powered by the Intel i3-4010U 1.7GHz processor and Intel HD 4400 graphics. Being that this is a “PC Kit” you will need to install your own DDR3L memory and mSATA drive. Let’s take a look!

"Current AMD processors have two external busses. One is used on the communication between the CPU and the memory, and it is simply called "memory bus." The other is used on the communication between the CPU and all other PC components through the motherboard chipset and is called HyperTransport an I/O (Input/Output) bus. In this tutorial, we will be explaining how the HyperTransport bus works and clarifying common mistakes people assume about this bus.

Emulation is a popular pass time for many PC gamers, and in recent year there has been a big increase in GPU horsepower in the mobile market, allowing us to enjoy many classic games on the go, not just on our desktops. The Nvidia Shield is one of the most powerful mobile gaming devices on the market, and this is especially thanks to its Nvidia Tegra 4 GPU/CPU, which is not only capable of running many older games such as those from the Super Nintendo and Mega Drive, but also a lot more advanced 3D titles from consoles such as the Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast and more. What I hope to find out today is whether or not these games work well enough to justify using the Nvidia Shield as a dedicated emulation device.
