"This is a super quick how-to guide from Frostytech on modding the Ultra Products U12-40659 Carbon X4 multisocket VGA cooler fan power cable so it can be connected to a normal sized 3-pin fan header common to most videocards and motherboards. Now normally Frostytech wouldn't waste our time with a guide to making a fan jumper cable, but because Ultra Products don't list the electrical pin outs in the manual, and the power cables aren't colour coded to reveal this information, the mod is just tricky enough that a few of you will find this really helpful."

Here's a treat for all hard core enthusiasts - an engineering sample of the upcoming Xeon E5 (Sandy Bridge-EP 8 Cores, 16 Threads) was spotted by our team working on a ASUS ROG Rampage IV GENE motherboard, which was housed inside a small Thermaltake mATX lanparty box. This pretty much confirms internet rumors that have been going around for quite some time that the 8-core server part will work on regular 1P desktop boards, although not officially sanctioned or validated by Intel.

November and December are great months for replacing a PC. Not only have all the big hardware launches for the year taken place, the big winter game releases have all occurred too. One company looking to meet our needs for the latest and greatest system is UK Gaming Computers and today we have their Minos system on our test bench. Based on an overclocked i7 CPU and GTX 780 Ti GPU with compact chassis and motherboard it should be a powerful yet small system.

In the UK there are a growing number of system integrators to chose from when buying a new PC and with such a competitive market, it is not the easiest of tasks to decide who to buy your new system from. Whilst many people do opt to go for the bigger, more well known names such as PC Specialist, Overclockers UK and Scan, there are a whole host of smaller companies out there who strive to offer high quality systems and customer service alike.
For many people, including myself UK Gaming Computers are a company that until now I’ve never heard of. Formed in 2009, the Essex based integrator that have been building custom systems like no other in their thousands, offering unique paint jobs, modifications and even bespoke system builds on a per-client basis. As well as building systems, UKGC also offer an extended line of services which include laser panel cutting, airbrushing and even wrapping your system in caron fibre.
The companies main focus is on quality over quantity and this is how they have managed to build up a rapport for some of the best individual systems in the UK market. Up to this point UK Gaming Computers have never had one of their systems reviewed, so I will say that I am a little privileged to be the first person to take a proper look at one of their systems and give my thoughts back on it. The system that has been sent across to me is UKGC’s latest creation and also their new flagship mini-PC and goes my the name “Minos” – meaning the ‘Son on Zeus. As well as being a flagship system, the case has also been covered in a new prototype paint finish, which adds another style to the extensive selection of finishes that are already on offer.
The Minos starts from £1,629.99 inc VAT and can be purchased here, however the system that we have has had a couple of additions made to it and as a result is a little more expensive.

This article delves into the new UEFI architecture and why it is much more important to the computer world than you think. Computer hardware has evolved a great deal in the past few decades. Graphics cards and sound cards are providing life-like graphics and theater quality sound, terabyte size spindle hard drives are being paired with blazing fast SSD drives for limitless storage for the common user, while huge quantities of RAM and CPUs are providing six- (soon eight-) cores for incredible multi-tasking capabilities. Rounding out all that hardware is the motherboard, the backbone of your system.

Up here in the cold frozen wastelands of Canada, we are celebrating thanksgiving almost a month before our American friends down south. (Editor's note: This review was written over Thanksgiving, so we are not stuck in any sort of time lag, haha.) So, what do I have to be thankful for? Well, I am thankful that it hasn't snowed yet, and that UEBO has sent us the M50 media player to review. I am also thankful for the massive turkey dinner that I had on the weekend, among many other things. While I'm sitting down on the couch after being more stuffed than ever before, wouldn't it be nice to just plug in my flash stick to quickly show my family some vacation pictures on the large screen TV? How about if I was to go over to a friend's house, and show some of my friends some pictures of a concert I went to? As you can tell, having something quick and easy to attach to a TV and play movies or show pictures is a typical issue for many people. The solution I have here is the UEBO M50, a pocket-sized portable media player. Media players are handy to have, but one that you can take with you to other places is potentially invaluable. I can think of countless places where I would want to plug a USB flash drive to play videos or view some pictures, or heck, even listen to music. The only real question that remains is whether or not the UEBO M50 is really worth its price tag of $65 at press time. As always, you will have to read on to find out the answer!

A few years ago, I was chatting with my buddy Devin after class (Who is now also my colleague here at APH Networks), and somehow we came across the topic of relationships with members of the opposite gender. "Looks are what that gets it started," he said. "But personality is what that keeps it going." What can I say? As a guy, I will admit it is quite literally impossible to completely look past a girl's physical appearance, and go straight for the "inner beauty". Okay, maybe there are exceptions out there, but I am pretty sure we were created with a natural appreciation for good looks; not that I am superficial or anything. At the same time, one thing we must agree on is appearance is not everything. Yes, it gets you attracted to that person in the first place, but have you ever been with anyone that you simply cannot stand? Sure, looks are great, but so is their personality. In other words, what makes an attractive person is not exclusively outer beauty or purely inner beauty, but instead, it is a balanced combination of both. A few weeks ago, my colleagues Devin and Jeremy reviewed the UEBO M50 and UEBO M100, respectively. To finish off our trio of reviews at the climax, what we have here at APH Networks this afternoon is the king of all UEBO products -- the UEBO M400. On the outside, the company's flagship device is probably the best looking digital media player I have ever seen. But does it have the personality to boot? Read on to find out!

Lately, you may have heard of my recent trip to Hong Kong. I believe Hong Kong is like my second home to me, because every time I visit, I take home something of great value. It was less than five years ago that I came back to Canada happily bringing home a Japanese PlayStation 3 (Japanese PS3s run on the same area code as North American PS3s) I got for a cheaper price, without tax, and of course, the opportunity to evade the immense waiting lines. At the time, the PlayStation 3 was just another gaming system that many parents loathed. For our family however, the gaming system became much more than a prosthetic used for killing Nazi Zombies, if you catch my drift. Surprisingly, my parents fully accepted the console and all its features. Wanted to watch a DVD? Turn on the PlayStation 3. Wanted to listen to music using an external storage device or a CD? Turn on the PlayStation 3. Wanted to watch a movie off an external storage device? Turn on the PlayStation 3. If we were feeling ambitious, we would buy a Blu-ray and guess what? We turned on the PlayStation 3. Heck, we even showed our parents YouTube videos using the PlayStation 3. However, as the saying goes, "All good things come to an end." When my brother moved out, let's just say that at times, my parents missed the PlayStation 3 more than him. It was not long before my parents forced me to go out shopping for another media player alternative. I soon ended up with a Patriot Box Office network media player, which was reviewed by my colleague Jonathan more than a year ago, because it did all that we wanted it to do for a reasonable price. But are there better things in the market today? Today, we have a new portable media player from UEBO. UEBO states that the M100 media player is stylish on the outside, and genius on the inside. Can it do all this and still be priced a reasonable amount? Read on to find out!

It’s amazing how far technology has gone when you look at the mobile phone market. It really wasn’t that long ago when the RAZR flip phone was the hip thing to have. Now most people have large screens, fast internet, and more processing power than you would ever have imagined. With that in mind, it does seem a little crazy that we still have to plug our phones in all of the time to charge them. When I picked up my Nexus 4, the wireless charging feature was one of the most interesting to me. Today I will finally be able to show off what it’s all about with the new TYLT VÜ wireless charging pad.
