Verbatim is at it again with a new line of recordable media. This time, we get a variety of colors in the form of the image-etching tool known as LightScribe. Originally they came only in the color "Gold". I guess it wouldn't be as flashy to call it "Vomit Yellow", and now they have one-upped themselves by bringing us four new brilliant colors to make our burned media look that much more vibrant. Now you can have any color of the rainbow you want, as long as you only want Green, Blue, Red, Orange, and Yellow. Here's some more info on it before I commence the burning.

From all the stuff I and Cássio saw during CES 2009 probably the craziest one was a series of retro-looking phone handsets for your cell phone, from a company called YUBZ (pronounced "why you busy". They are available in two versions: wired or wireless, using Bluetooth technology. Now imagine you walking down the street, your phone ringing and you picking up a red phone receiver like the "hot line" between Batman and Commissioner Gordon on the 1960's TV show. Definitely a terrific ice-breaker, especially when you go partying.

It is now our great pleasure to introduce our first review ever of a digital compact camera, kindly delivered by Nikon. As of late, we have had a compact camera from Nikon firmly mounted on the test bench - more precisely the Nikon Coolpix S550. Nikon proudly refers to it as the slimmest device in its category (10 MP og 5x zoom), thus it will be interesting to see how it performs

O.k. I know that this has absolutely nothing to do with PC hardware, but since I HATE cold calls and junk mail, especially credit card offers, and spent some time researching how to stop them, I thought that it would be worthwhile sharing my knowledge, so other people on the same situation could stop being bothered

Kids today have more adult freedoms and priveledges than any prior generation. Add to that all of the unwarranted privacy they receive, and you'll see that any parent should be concerned about what their kids are doing online. It's in the news every week: some teenager who has committed suicide over Internet Bullying, kids being listed as sex offenders for broadcasting naked photos of themselves. And don't even get me started on how anonynimity emboldens angry teens to behave in aggressive, rude, and socially reprehensible ways... especially when many families today only have one parent in the house. Do you think kids would act this way if they knew someone was watching?

Guess when you have $56 billion and change in the vault in today’s economic environment you must be doing something right. Just wish our kids would quit contributing to the stash Apple is using to buy GPU (graphics processor unit) technology and game designer talent. A few years ago Apple decided all smartphones sucked (they’re not too hot on netbooks either). So they announced the step up from the iPod (they didn’t like those other MP3 players!)…the iPhone.

We wrap up our coverage of the 2009 E3 Expo with a look at some of the titles for your console and PC that we think will be the "sleepers" of 2009/2010. Most of these products will not be available until later this year or early 2010, but many of the developers and designers were willing to let us take some pictures and film their product to bring it to you, our faithful readers!

There's much to get excited about with Samsung's 52" LN52A850S1F LCD HDTV, commonly known as the 'A850'. For starters this LCD HDTV ups the ante with the ability to play movies/music/pictures directly from a USB mass storage device or over a home network connection and it's screen is less than 2" thick, making it one of the thinnest large screen TV's out there. Samsung's A850-series stacks up like this: the 52" diagonal LCD screen boats a contrast ratio of 70,000:1 (dynamic), a brightness value of 500nits, industry standard viewing angles of 178/178 (horizontal/vertical).
