There are many choices for wireless broadband out there, but none, at the moment, as fast as the new 4G service that Verizon Wireless is now offering. Today for review I’ve got the new Pantech UML290 4G USB Modem and it’s fast, seriously fast, it gives you the speeds you want when and where you want them. The UML290 though is a bit on the large side, but you might forgive the size for the speeds you’ll get.

Verbatim are a company well known for their optical media but they also make a range of other PC related goodies, from hard drives and speakers to computer mice and even printer toner and in this case the rather nice looking keyboard and mouse combo we’ll be looking at today.

Let’s take a break from the CES stuff for a review. Up for review today I’ve got another product from Verbatim and it’s another card reader but this one is USB 3.0. I have to wonder about this as memory cards really aren’t that fast so how much of a difference is it really going to make going from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0? The Verbatim USB 3.0 Universal Card Reader is nice looking and it can read most any type of cards out there. It’s a card reader so it’s not exactly one of the most exciting things out there, but it does have it’s place in our digital lives.

For today’s review we will look at an external drive targeted at the Mac market the Store 'n' Go FireWire 800/USB 3.0 for Mac portable hard drive. This portable 2.5 hard drive uses some of the fastest drive interfaces available in Firewire 800 and USB 3.0. "

Today I’ve got a brief review for you of a rather small product from Verbatim called the Pocket Card Reader. It’s just like it sounds, it’s a small and portable card reader that you can take with you on the go. Yes it’s a simple and very basic product but these days you need a card reader that can handle many formats and the Pocket Reader can read most everything except compact flash I think. The reader has a built-in USB cable so you won’t have to worry about carrying one with you, and best of all it’s inexpensive at around $15.

Verbatim is at it again with a new line of recordable media. This time, we get a variety of colors in the form of the image-etching tool known as LightScribe. Originally they came only in the color "Gold". I guess it wouldn't be as flashy to call it "Vomit Yellow", and now they have one-upped themselves by bringing us four new brilliant colors to make our burned media look that much more vibrant. Now you can have any color of the rainbow you want, as long as you only want Green, Blue, Red, Orange, and Yellow. Here's some more info on it before I commence the burning.

The Vantec SuperSpeed USB 3.0 card is definitely fast. It can supply enough bandwidth for SATA hard drives to work at their full potential, and works much better than the chipsets on many motherboards. While testing USB flash sticks in our test labs, we have discovered that the quality of the chipset on the motherboard greatly affects the USB throughput. Even if you don't need the extra bandwidth right now, the NEC D720200F1 chip on the SuperSpeed card provided the best performance we have seen on all of our existing USB 2.0 devices. So if you think you're not getting the most out of your USB devices, then it's probably your motherboard's USB chipset and you may want to upgrade to the new technology.

Don’t you hate it when the battery on your mobile device dies during the course of the day and you realized you either forgot your charger or don’t have anywhere to charge it? Today for review I’ve got the Veho Pebble Smartstick Emergency Charger which is just like it sounds, a portable battery essentially to charge your devices in an emergency. That’s not exactly true I think as it doesn’t really have to be an emergency to use it, you can use it anytime you need to top off the battery in your device. The Pebble is very small and portable and comes with a few different tips allowing you to charge most devices on the market today. The Pebble is something that personally I need as my kids love using my iPod Touch 4th Gen but it’s aging and the battery only lasts for a little over an hour, and that isn’t much really. The Pebble allows my kids to keep using the iPod for more than what the battery normally allows. So read one to learn more..

Into the big world of small gadgets, Veho come bearing their new Muvi Micro DV Camcorder. A minuscule 55mm from tip to toe, this bewilderingly petite device claims to be "officially the smallest high resolution DV camcorder in the world." In an era of the ubiquitous camera there's an awful lot of competition. Have Veho set their sights too high endeavouring to cram convenience and quality into such a small package? It's certainly rare to find both in one place. For the last week the Muvi Micro DV Camcorder has been put through its paces, and now the time has come for me to unveil my impressions.

In the past year, we’ve seen a number of different wireless streaming devices intended to help bridge the gap between the distance between users and the television. Unlike recent products like the Boxee Box and GoogleTV, which are intended to connect directly to your television full-time, wireless USB streaming devices such as the Veebeam HD try a different route opting to leverage your existing computer from anywhere in the room to stream content to the big screen. This is a great product in theory but can it mesh with how users currently use and expect their home theater PCs to behave?
