By now most of you out there should have already made plans for the summer, some of you may have decided to visit relatives while others may go to a place at the beach, visit foreign countries, go on a mountain excursion and so on. Personally i obviously prefer going both to the beach and the mountain and although these two destinations are the best one can be at regardless of the time of the year there's but a single problem that applies for both and that's that there aren't any electrical sockets around when you are not at the house/resort so if your smartphone is running low on battery then there's not much you can do about it. Because of such emergencies i always carry two portable batteries with me, one placed in my car (charging smartphones from your lighter socket is not the best thing to do) and another in my backpack. Today we will be taking a look at one such portable battery and more specifically the latest PowerBar 4400mAh by our friends over at Sandberg.

Welcome to another Case Mod Friday showcase! This week we have Gonzalo Galvan's Pipe Fusion build. Here is what he had to say about it: It's my second project, but the first with such dedication, at first were some simple changes but slowly began to appear new ideas that led me to change the entire interior to adapt to the watercooling. I am very happy with the mod to be better than I expected.

Having a gigabit network connection at home makes it possible to transfer your files very fast, for example to and from a NAS device. While WiFi is of course much more in the news in recent years, the development surrounding wired connections hasn't been standing still. You can buy switches that offer a full-duplex bandwidth that's 10 times faster than gigabit. While the new standard has been around for a while now, the Netgear ProSafe XS708E is one of the first 10 Gbit switches that can be called relatively affordable.

What makes the prototype Sandia Cooler special is the design, its aluminum cooling fins serve double duty as the rotating fan and fan blades of the cooler . Unlike traditional CPU coolers, heat energy in the Sandia Cooler is conducted across a very thin air gap bearing from the stationary base of the cooler to the upper rotating aluminum fin/fan component.

It’s amazing how far technology has gone when you look at the mobile phone market. It really wasn’t that long ago when the RAZR flip phone was the hip thing to have. Now most people have large screens, fast internet, and more processing power than you would ever have imagined. With that in mind, it does seem a little crazy that we still have to plug our phones in all of the time to charge them. When I picked up my Nexus 4, the wireless charging feature was one of the most interesting to me. Today I will finally be able to show off what it’s all about with the new TYLT VÜ wireless charging pad.
