Metallica are one of the biggest rock bands on the globe and are basically an institution in the USA. Their hordes of fans have been clamoring for a Metallica Guitar Hero for the last year. Their wish has come true because the title ships in a couple of months. We were asked along to Activision to sample the head banging delights with the newest edition to the Guitar Hero franchise.

Many people aren’t even aware of the development of Sims 3 because everything relating to the game seems to have been kept relatively hush hush. Developer Maxis also handed the project over to EA Redwood Shores recently. It is actually quite a shock to learn that this title has been in development for around four years now. I was lucky enough to get a look at The Sims 3 when it was announced but recently I managed to spend some time in the new Sims town courtesy of EA.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX from Ubisoft’s Romania Studio puts the player in the cockpit of the latest fighter jets to create a high octane flight experience with plenty of tricks to separate it from the masses. We recently had some time to play a few of the new missions over Chicago and Washington, which proved to be a memorable experience.

Does a change of venue make it a unique game? I don’t know, there've been other Pacific Theater games, although the stuff on the Ost Front are a little slim--multiplayer-only held against it, Red Orchestra is one of the coolest WWII shooters I've ever had the pleasure of getting smacked with--but c'mon, it's WWII. If the Second World War was a genre, it'd probably be real-time strategy. Everyone's had a tour.

I recently had some time to sit down with the forthcoming Overlord 2 on the Xbox 360. This is (unsurprisingly) the followup to the successful Overlord which was released quite some time ago on the next generation consoles, as well as the PC. In the first game, the Overlord was killed at the end of the game but he was fortunate enough to have a son.

The Resident Evil 5 demo was released recently in Japan and while i was over speaking to Capcom I was fortunate enough to spend most of a weekend playing the two level demo on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. This demo gives us a good indication of how Capcoms latest and greatest is shaping up ahead of release in March.

We reviewed Mirrors Edge last year on the high definition consoles and today we are following up with the new PC version which features support for Nvidia PhysX. For those who missed it first time around developer DICE have attempted to recreate a high octane game built around the concept of a futuristic parkour environment. You climb, jump and scale obstacles, all while trying to avoid being shot by bloodthirsty armed troops.

Polish developer City Interactive release budget games for the PC and their previous outings haven't been that wonderful. Today however we are looking at their latest air combat game, Combat Wings: Battle Of Britain which actually turns out to be quite an enjoyable game.

Saints Row 2 was released on the next generation consoles quite a while ago and while similarities are always going to be made with it and Grand Theft Auto there are some quite large differences between the two .... What? Well for a start one is actually good fun, the other isn't!
