Operation Flashpoint has been a very successful franchise, targeting the first person shooter audience who like a little focus on tactics, rather than straightforward kamikaze heroics. The games started on the PC platform, but in recent years have seen many outings on the console platform also. Dragon Rising from 2009 was a fun romp, but the difficulty setting and long duration between auto saves frustrated much of the audience.

Pilotwings as a series is an interesting one. First launched on the Super Nintendo system, the game is either derided or loved by each gamer with a Nintendo console. The fact is that the older games were hard, incredibly hard in fact; so difficult that you could get stuck for hours on end with nothing to do just trying to beat one challenge. However, for many gamers that is what made the game so appealing and when we heard that it was coming to 3DS with 3D graphics we were excited. However, we also had a worry that given the casual market that Nintendo now targets, it would be toned down and unfortunately this is only the beginning of its problems.
DarkSpore is not about cute creatures and falling in love. There is no evolving from a single cell organism to a cool and level headed ruler of the galaxy. Darkspore is a science fiction role playing game with no real connection to the original game which was such a huge success for Electronic Arts. Spore was a very original game which appealed to both kids and grandmothers, but this latest offering is certainly aimed at a specific audience.
