The Amazing Spider-Man is a game by Beenox released in tandem with the recent reboot of the movie franchise. Its biggest hook in its advertising was bringing Spider-Man “back to New York”, basically allowing players to once again control Spider-Man in an open environment and web swing to their heart’s content.

The storyline for Inversion is a simple one, set in the near future of the fictional location of Vanguard City we take on the role of Davis Russell, a young police detective who starts out just trying to get home to wish his daughter a happy birthday. Davis's partner, Leo Delgado, tags along, since he seems to have nothing better to do and it's just as well he does because Vanguard City is about to be attacked by an invasion of thuggish alien types called Lutadores.

Allow me to open this review with some honesty. I am not generally a fan of real life setting military shooters. The idolizing of soldiers and glorification of war as a simple battle of heroes (American troops) versus villains (Russians, terrorists, etc.) never really sat well with me.
Aside from modern FPS’s, two of the most oversaturated genres in gaming are zombie shooters, and WWII shooters. After you sift through all the trash, there are maybe two or three titles from each where you can say “damn this game is great”. Two of the most respected video game developers (a dying breed these days) are VALVe and Tripwire, and both share a common history in developing smash hits in both genres.
What's better than racing? Why, racing and blowing up your opponents, of course! Remedy has just released a remake of its 1995 top-down racer Death Rally, and it's fun. The game has fast-paced racing, a ton of eye candy, gameplay that allows you to hop off as quick as you hopped on, good variety and a modest $10 price tag.
In the original Darksiders, we assumed the role of one of the four horsemen, War, who's been accused of unleashing the apocalypse on the world. In this second title, we play as his brother, Death, who vows to clear War's good name. Though the stories are shared, Darksiders II proves to be one of the best aRPGs we've ever played.
