It was only a couple of weeks ago that I dived into the kart racing world of F1 Stars, a massive spin off from the super serious world of Formula one from Codemasters. But I've got two karting games to review this month and I've been looking forward to finding out just which one will come out on top. As some of you may know, F1 Stars didn't favor too well in my review, it wasn't a bad game, but certainly nothing special. But the Little Big Planet franchise has a place in my heart, as a gamer I quickly became a fan of the first and second LBP games on the PS3. Their extensive customization options, multiplayer madness, creative levels and more make them some of my all time favourite games. All in all this means that LBP Karting has got a lot to live up to.
From the very first trailer, Dishonored appealed to me greatly. The setting and design were just the right combination of dark and bizarre to warrant my attention so I was very much looking forward to playing through this title. In Dishonored, you take control of a former personal bodyguard of the Empress who is framed for her murder and kidnapping of her daughter. You are freed by a group loyal to the Empress who know you’re innocent and tasked with the assassination of those responsible and the recovery of the heiress to the throne.
After a little bit of a hiatus , I return, I have a couple of older reviews to catch up on but will hopefully be up to date soon. First, let’s start with Resident Evil 6, Capcom’s most recent installation in its popular horror series.
With its F1 and DiRT games, Codemasters has established itself as being one of the better developers out there where racing titles are concerned. But while those games feature realistic environments, vehicles and driving mechanics, F1 Race Stars throws all that out the window to offer a colorful and very interesting kart racer. Let’s check it out.
Much has changed with the Hitman series since it took a hiatus six years ago, both in and out of game. Hitman: Absolution has been released through a new publisher, and has been developed with a new direction in the story. Do these changes bring us closer to hitting the mark of excellence, or should the series have stayed in purgatory?
This week I have been spending time with the much anticipated Assassin's Creed III, the latest free-roaming AAA title from Ubisoft. Now I'm a big fan of the original two Assassin's Creed games, although I will admin I haven't played any of the in-between games such as Brotherhood or Revelations. It's hard to keep track though, as there are many Assassin's Creed stories within the franchise (click here to see what I mean). I've been looking forward to this title since before I even knew it existed and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Max Payne 3 is well-suited for three monitors. To be able to run the game on three Full HD monitors you will need a high-end graphics card with at least 2 GB of video memory. Out of the single-GPU cards only the Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 and AMD Radeon HD 7970 were able to reach 60 fps or more on Normal settings. The GTX 670 and Radeon HD 7950 fall just short of 60 fps. Since 40 fps is enough to enjoy this game, you're fine with a GeForce GTX 660 or a Radeon HD 7870.
