Since Google announced its hugely popular Google Reader service will be shutting down on Just 1st, tens of millions of users have been left wondering where to turn to next to get their news fix. The web giant made the shock announcement on its developers blog last week confirming that a fall in the number of users was one of the reasons for closing down the service. So as Google looks to putting its energy “into fewer products” Google Reader users will need to seek out an alternative service. Here we take a look at some of the options that are available.

You know for me I never saw the need for an Amazon Kindle. I get all kinds of gadgets to play with and I have two tablets already, which I rarely use. I ended up winning the Kindle Fire HD at a party at CES so I was pretty curious to see what all the buzz was about. I do actually read a lot, but I tried to make the switch over to reading on tablets and it just did not stick. I think the biggest thing was that I didn’t want to carry a large tablet around with me all of the time. The Kindle Fire HD being only 7-inches is the smallest tablet I have owned or really spent an extended period of time with. After taking it out of the package I said to myself, “wow this thing is small and who would want a tablet this size?” But after using it for a few weeks it seems to be the perfect device to read on. Of course there is much more you can do on the Kindle fire HD as well so let’s go ahead and get this review started!

3DMark has always been a great tool for testing high-end graphics cards, but it has even more to offer now. For the first time 3DMark is not a Windows-only benchmark any longer. Now it's possible to also test Windows RT, Apple iOS and Google Android devices, which makes 3DMark the first true cross-platform tool for measuring and comparing 3D performance.
Though still in beta, Valve’s Steam client for Linux is stable, fast, and from what we can tell, matches the feature-set of the Windows and OS X clients 1:1. That being the case, there felt like no better time than the present to dive in, give a tour and relay our experiences with both the client and a slew of games.
