BBC has reported on news of a serious flaw in VBulletin 3.8.6 that allows anyone to easily access the main administrator username and password for the popular forum software. This could also enable hackers to access user data, such as e-mail addresses or edit the forum software at will.
Es ist schon kurios, kaum ist das erste Servicepack für Windows 7 online und auch über Windows respektive Microsoft-Update verfügbar, stürzen sich die Anwender auf die Downloads, laden es herunter und wollen es installieren oder updaten. You have probably seen an article posted by Gizmodo listing 7 reasons to stick with Windows XP. Well, there are certainly some reasons for sticking with Windows XP and the one that really makes sense is if your current system is too old to support Windows 7. You may not meet the minimum system requirements or your system may have an odd ball piece of hardware that is not supported. However, if your system can pass Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor I suggest you bite the bullet and do the upgrade. If you still have your doubts because the 7 points highlighted by Gizmodo are reason enough, here's my take on Gizmodo's points.
AMD has just released a new Catalyst driver (12.6) for Radeon graphics cards - we check out performance under Windows 7.
By now, H.265 (or HEVC) has proven that it is able to reduce bandwidth usage by 50% compared to H.264. In all likelihood, the new codec will play a large role in the increasing popularity of 4K video. However, for the time being we'll have to wait for devices, and thus chips, which actually support this new standard. Parties such as Qualcomm and PowerVR have already made announcements, but other parties remain suspiciously quiet. To be continued!
