When i got my first cellular phone back in 1996 (a Motorola) most people i knew at the time despised even the idea of people being able to reach them when not at home so buying such a "gadget" was simply out of the question. Fast forward 16 years later and the same people now own not one but at least two cellular phones with two or more different numbers. Of course compared to back then the new smartphones are now immeasurably more powerful and can also act like mini computers capable of doing pretty much anything one would want while on the road or at home from taking pictures, recording/watching HD (high definition) video clips and listening to music to browsing the internet, using social sites, storing notes and checking to see your exact position via GPS (Global Positioning Satellites). Huawei may not be name many people recognize in the word of smartphones but they are amongst the top manufacturers of pretty much everything related to communications and today with us we have their U8860 Honor smartphone.

The Eee PC 1000HE is one of the latest laptops in Asus’s ever expanding line of superportable notebooks, more commonly known as netbooks. What differentiates this offering from many of their other netbooks is the 6 cell battery included as standard with the machine… it is the real selling point for this model and purportedly offers up to 9.5 hours of battery life. We’ll find out later in whether the machine can come close to these impressive claims.

Portable gaming power has always raised a few questions in my head. Mostly laptops are limited in processor and graphics power. Let alone that the cooling is not as optimized as the desktop variants. Last year at Cebit I already saw some nice specifications amongst the acclaimed gaming notebooks. With the arrival of the Sandybridge processors a whole new era of computing was unleashed. High frequency, low power consumption and all in all being able to operate at acceptable temperatures. The mobile variants aren't any different. I own a Sandy bridge based laptop since a few months and it still amazes me how smooth it works with all sort of applications. Plus the the battery duration is over 4 hours. And it's just a cheap mainstream Acer notebook. Absolutely nothing fancy like todays MSI GT780 Gaming laptop. The MSI crew promised smooth gameplay, even in the latest hot game titles. Being an avid online gamer, I just couldn't resist to ask for a review sample.
