Durch seinen vielen internen Kommunikationsschnittstellen (UMTS/3G, Bluetooth, WLAN, GPS) wollen wir Testen, ob das Viewpad 7 wirklich der ultimative mobile Begleiter ist. Für einen Kurztest hat uns die Firma Viewsonic ein Viewpad 7 Tablet zur Verfügung gestellt und wir möchten euch in einem 10 seitigen Testbericht verraten, ob das Viewpad 7 eine Kaufempfehlung ist, oder eher nicht.
The Sony Xperia Tablet S can be called a succesful 'update' of last year's Tablet S. Virtually every aspect has been improved, and the end result is comparable to other recent tablets. The problems with the splash proofing are unfortunate, but hopefully Sony will soon have that issue resolved. If you're looking for a 1280x720 tablet, then the Xperia Tablet S along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 are currently the best options.
The Pivos Xios DS is a flexible media player powered by an ARM Cortex A9 processor and an OpenGL Mali-400 3D GPU. The Xios DS media player is primarily Android-based but also has a Linux firmware option provided by Pivos. Pivos works closely with XBMC to optimize media playback functionality on the Xios DS hardware and usher XBMC development maturity on the Android platform. For connectivity, the Pivos Xios DS comes has a 10/100 Ethernet port, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, three USB 2.0 and a micro-SDHC card slot. Since it is running an unlocked Android OS, users can access the Google Play store and download apps that they need. The Pivos Xios DS uses an HDMI port to output video and comes bundled with an HDMI cable so it can be used directly out of the box.

Samsung is doing a good job at hyping us up for their Galaxy S II Android powered smart phone. The Galaxy S II is impossibly thin at just 8.49 mm and still manages to pack a 4.3" Super AMOLED screen. Meanwhile, the thin design doesn't look like it will inhibit processing power as the phone comes with a Dual Core processor accompanied by 16/32GB of memory. With all the excitement surrounding the second iteration of the Galaxy phone, I can only hope that the cell phone carriers will not cripple this as they did with the first series... cough... Verizon / AT&T... cough.
Today we will be putting the M14x through a selection of real world tests which include media encoding and playback as well as gaming. We'll be putting this i7 based laptop up against an i5 model in a selection of those tests to find out how much extra performance we can get and whether the system can game satisfactorily a its native resolution.
