The ACER Aspire S7-191-6640 has been one of my better experiences with an ultrabook. Over the past few months I've had my hands on the Cyberpower Zeus M2, and the Dell XPS14. Each of those had their own strong points and their own week points. The ACER Aspire s7-191-6640 really didn't seem to have much in the way any weak points, at least not in my experience. Of course there could always be more performance from the processor, but hey, that's pretty much true of any system out there...

First off, can we all agree that Phablet is a terrible name? A Smartphone with a big screen does not make a tablet. Second, let’s examine what exactly a “Phablet” is. The difference between a large phone and a small tablet is that a small tablet will run (at least in theory) tablet optimized applications, whereas the large phone is stuck with phone apps. The question is how big is too big for a phone?

The fine folks at Cyberpower PC have sent us over one of their latest creations, and truth be told, I'm looking forward to this one! What we have today is the Cyberpower Fangbook X7-200 gaming notebook. The entire Fangbook series features a massive 17.3" screen (1920x1080 HD LED-Backlit), Intel Core i7-3630QM quad-core processors (to start), and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX and GTX 680M graphics. To say that these things are beasts doesn't do them justice. The Fangbook has the different versions to it, each with slightly different specifications and price points. The Fangbook X7-200 that we have in our hands today starts out at $1549...

Microsoft has proven with its first real Windows tablet that it has a clear vision. We'd argue that it's focused a bit too much on touch, as the Touch and Type Cover isn't a real alternative for an actual keyboard and touchpad. Touch operation is still an issue on the Windows desktop, it's just not made for it (yet). The Windows Store doesn't have enough useful apps for the Metro environment to be a true alternative yet. Microsoft hasn't even released a touch version of the Office package yet. The general feeling we therefore get after testing and using the Surface Pro is that it's a work in progress. It's an interesting attempt with lots of potential, but it won't be for everyone.

Auf der letzten Frankfurter Buchmesse fiel der E-Book-Reader 'txtr Beagle durch ein ungewöhnliches Konzept auf. Ob er die gesteckten Erwartungen erfüllen kann, zeigt unser Test.

The Samsung Chromebook XE303C12 is interesting for a number of reasons. It's an internet laptop in its purest form. The screen is big enough, you get a full keyboard and a good WiFi card - everything you need for browsing the web and using Google services such as Google Docs, Gmail or Google Apps for Business.

This bad boy comes equipped standard with 8GB of system memory, a lightning fast Samsung SSD, a powerhouse Core i5 dual core, multi-threaded, integrated graphics processor and a touch screen to boot! It's hard to think all of that processing power is housed within the unit's tiny chassis. Coming in at just under $800, this Ultrabook is not for someone on a budget, but offers some great features for the cost. Here you are, the Samsung Series 5 Ultra Touch 13.5” NP540U3C Ultrabook.

If you liked the original Google Nexus 7, you are going to fall in love with the new Google Nexus 7! The Google and ASUS partnership once again pulled it off and have married together some great hardware and software in this 7-inch tablet. The improvements were across the board too, so you get a much more refined user experience. At the end of the day it really all boils down to the user experience and that is stellar on this particular tablet...

Gaming away from home is definitely becoming more and more popular, with eSPORTS rising up and consumers living in a mobile lifestyle, and this is a perfect place for a desktop replacement notebook that allows you to play some of the most extreme games on the planet, while on the move.
Generally speaking, if you want to play extreme games like Crysis 3 and Metro Last Light, then you'd be restricted to a fully fledged desktop system with enough power to deal with anything that you throw at it, but this has all changed over the past couple of years. More notebooks are being released that can rival these power hungry systems and still incorporating powerful processing power and extreme GPU performance.
The new notebooks that are hitting the market are making the divide between desktops and notebooks in terms of performance so fine that they are now overlapping by quite a margin with many of today's laptops being produced having far more power than some of their desktop counterparts. Because of this overlap in performance and the number of users who want a compact system to take to gaming events such as iSeries (the UK biggest gaming festival) growing, its more and more common to see people attending these events with desktop replacements as their primary system.
PC Specialist are one of the UKs leading system integrators and since 2002 they have seen multiple awards across many publications for their systems, including the Vanquish X200 Gaming Rig that Peter had a look at a few months ago. The companies dedication towards selecting the best components for each build and the option to customise each and every system they have available with a whole hopst of options means that there are hundreds of ways in which a particular system can be configured. This means that there is with out a doubt a system for every persons needs out there.
