The only thing these machines have in common is an ideal. It's not price, since some of these machines do or can break the $1000 point, and it's not performance, because there are, or at least are going to be, some relative powerhouse netbooks. It's about function: the idea that you want connectivity, data, and everything else that comes with the series of tubes, but you don't even want to carry a laptop with you.
Asus are a household name among computer enthusiasts as they manufacturer some of the best equipment available on the market, the most notable products being their large range of motherboards and the famous Eee PC. Their range of portable machines is ever growing and today we are going to look at one of their laptops from the Asus Republic of Gamers line, the G71V, which as you can tell by the brand title puts heavy emphasis on catering for gamers.
When I first heard of the ViBook I had doubts that I would truly enjoy its presence. I mean, most monitors already have the ability to extend their workspace with a second monitor. Then I realized that two monitors aren't always enough. What if I needed 3, 4, 5 or even 6? No laptop is going to come with that many DVI or VGA ports nor will you likely have 3 video cards installed onto your PC. You will more than likely have 6 or 8 USB ports at your disposal and that's where the ViBook really shines. You won't need to fiddle with any screws or wiggle a cable to make sure all the pins line up. The USB connection is simple and always works.
ASUS has been a dominating player in the netbook market with their well-established Eee PC line. In this economy, being able to purchase a portable PC for less than $400 is a welcome option for those already pinching pennies. ASUS has shipped us their latest Seashell Eee PC, the 1005HA. Sporting a 10.5 hour battery life, an Intel Atom N280 processor and a multi-touch trackpad, the 1005HA could be one of the best netbooks on the market.
Today’s review sample, the OCZ Neutrino, gives the consumer a little bit of wiggle room outside of the norm of entirely preconfigured netbook systems. Today for review I’ve got a double review actually, two products for the Asus Eee PC 900 from a company called Proporta. I figured it would be best to combine these reviews since they go with each other and the second product is a small one. What I have for review from Proporata is a very nice leather case and a screen protector. The leather case is stylish and it will protect your little Eee PC from bumps and scrapes, it is more though like a case for a cellphone, it wraps around the Eee PC to protect it but yet still allows access to ports and buttons etc. The case stays on the Eee PC forever really, it’s not one that you take off, just like a cellphone case would stay on your phone. The screen protector is a screen protector like others out there, but this one of course is to protect the entire screen of the Asus Eee PC 900. The combination of both the leather case the screen protector is good one that will truly offer full protection for your investment.
Here we are again looking at a new entry onto the notebook market from ViewSonic. Last time I had my hands on a notebook from ViewSonic it was the Viewbook Pro and the little beast was one fantastic notebook for its class. Today I am having a look at the ViewSonic VNB141.
