Although i may have assembled countless PCs in the years i was working as a PC technician (i still do just not as much since I only do it for myself and friends) one thing still continues to puzzle me and that's the reason behind the why people always place the keyboard and mouse last when they decide their new system configuration. Granted these are peripherals that people can swap at will whenever they feel like doing so but at the same time these are two devices that pretty much do the same as the wheel and gear changer inside a car so it's always good to spend money on them if you can (even though your real life doesn't depend on them). Mechanical keyboards are still in their infancy compared to the "classic" membrane ones but they have won the hearts of both gamers and professionals all around the world due to their superior durability, tactile and audio feedback and today we're going to be testing the Lobera Spectrum RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard by our friends over at Tesoro.

The Thermaltake Bahamut External Sound Card is a perfect option if you have a laptop or an all-in-one computer with a poor sound card. It capable of 44.1/48KHZ sampling rates, 8/16-bit DAC, 5.1 channels, looks great with LEDs and is affordable.

Yesterday Ubisoft Montreal officially released Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (we received a copy a few days earlier) which is without doubt one of the very few game titles that have ever caught me off guard with their rather unique content and not so much with their graphics (in this case at all). You see this time over Ubisoft designed and released a game with very little eye candy (compared to today’s games) but with several clear references to some of my all-time favorite movies like the Terminator, ROBOCOP, Cyborg, Aliens and the Predator and like if that wasn't already awesome enough ontop of that Michael Biehn from The Terminator and Aliens (has played in several other blockbuster movies including The Abyss, Navy Seals and The Rock) has given his voice to the main character. I know that to some people these lines may seem weird but people around my age who know very well what I’m talking about will agree that there's no better way to enjoy such an amazing game than to play it using all the latest gaming peripherals and that's exactly what we did starting with the latest GUNGNIR gaming mouse by Tesoro.

Although pretty much everything in the PC industry changes rapidly thanks to advancements in technology the keyboard and mouse combo are the only two things that have remained pretty much the same since the beginning. Sure we've witnessed the introduction of new and improved membrane and mechanical switches, extra features like macro keys and backlit illumination and different tracking technologies such as optical, laser and LED but in the end the shape and basic functionality of both remains the same. That being said mechanical gaming keyboards have become very popular especially amongst serious gamers, enthusiasts and professionals not only because of the increased durability (up to 60 million keystrokes) and feedback (both audible and tactile) offered by mechanical switches (always compared to regular membrane models) but also because of their features including the newly introduced RGB key illumination. Not long ago Tesoro introduced the Excalibur RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard and since it got a really warm welcome by gamers all over the world it didn't take long for them to update it by launching the Excalibur Spectrum Mechanical Gaming Keyboard model which we'll be looking at today.

Tesoro are back on eTeknix once again! While we looked at their gorgeous new Lobera Spectrum recently, today we take a look at something a little further up the range, the new Excalibur Spectrum. RGB keyboards are all the rage recently, they’re often still the same keyboard they were last year in terms of performance and features, with the new addition of some funky lighting effects; no bad thing for those who love to customise their setup.

Tesoro Durandal Ultimate G1NL LED Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard has Cherry MX Key switches, 128KB onboard memory, 5 profiles keys, 50 programmable macro keys, backlight, 2 USB ports, mic/headphone jacks, wrist rest, anti-slip rubber feet and more. An outstanding keyboard!
Peripherals
Although the trend of our days demands from all the latest keyboards to feature Cherry MX mechanical switches/keys both Mad Catz and SteelSeries have proven beyond doubt that normal membrane keyboards are still alive and kicking. Now that i look back my first serious keyboard was the quite impressive (for its time) Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite back in late 1998 but it wasn't really until 2005 that i actually turned around and purchased my very first gaming keyboard the very innovative Logitech G15. Of course thanks to the massive differences and features it carried since then I’ve never used a normal keyboard again unless it was absolutely necessary (how many of you wish that laptops also had gaming keyboards attached?). Today we will be checking out yet another mechanical gaming keyboard that packs quite a few impressive features called the Durandal Ultimate manufactured by Tesoro.
