Quite a market has developed for high end mechanical gaming keyboards. Gamers, both professional and otherwise, have begun to migrate towards the tactile feedback each individual keystroke or double tap provides. With this growing market, the usual names have thrown their hats into the ring with offerings that both impress and amaze. Today I take a look at Thermaltake’s top of the pyramid offering, the Meka G-Unit Illumination Edition and see if this monster of a keyboard can tangle with its competitors.

In the office today we have the latest gaming peripheral from Gigabyte, the Force K7 stealth gaming keyboard. Gigabyte may be better known for their graphics cards and motherboards, but I'm sure many of you also know that they make some truly epic peripherals too and while not all of them are gaming focused they've still gone on to win plenty of awards for their keyboards and mice, not just from eTeknix either, but from many publications around the world, especially for their popular Aivia range.
The model we are looking at today may not be as prestigious as their Aivia range, but given that it is priced at a modest £40 I was hardly expecting royalty. That being said, £40 for a keyboard is still a firm investment and for that kind of money you still expect a good quality product in return for your investment. While obviously at this price range it doesn't feature mechanical keys, it does offer an alternative to the often cheaper membrane switch by using scissor switch keys, which some may regard as a mixture of both membrane and mechanical, often typical of what you find on good quality notebooks.
The keyboard packs a nice feature set such as dedicated controls for back-lighting and volume, shortcut keys, a braided cable, scissor switch keys, anti-ghosting capability around the WASD cluster and it promises it all just £40, so let's get straight to it and take a closer look at what the Force K7 has to offer.

On the gaming test bench today we have the Roccat Savu and if past Roccat products are anything to judge this by, then we should be in for a real treat today. While sure this mouse isn't as premium as their high-end Kone XTD, but not everyone has £80 to spend on a gaming mouse, the Savu looks set to tackle the mid budget market with a mid-size hybrid mouse for only £45.
For around £50 there are some truly great products on the market, but Roccat are known for their high quality and ability to cram insane amounts of features into their products, on paper at least the Savu seems like no exception to that rule and as you can see from the specifications on the image above, Roccat aren't about to cut features along with the price tag.
eSports, home gaming, or just browsing the web and wasting time on Reddit, it doesn't matter what you do at your computer, you are most certainly going to be using a mouse, so it makes sense that you're going to want something that is comfortable, versatile, well made and affordable, lets see if Roccat can meet those demands head on.
