Recently ASUS and their Republic of Gamers brand announced the Vulcan ANC headset, a high end gamer product which is designed to offer great features, build quality and design. Included in this is active noise cancelling technology which will appeal to those who game, or listen to multimedia, in a noisy environment. Today we have the Vulcan ANC attached to our system as we find out whether it can compete with headsets sold by manufacturers such as Razer and SteelSeries.

The Vulcan Pro is a follow up to the Vulcan ANC, the first active noise cancelling pro gaming headset from ASUS which we previously covered. With updated specifications including hardware sound processing in the form of RoG Spitfire, can it improve on the strong foundations of the original?

Asus are one of the biggest names on the market, famed for their motherboards, graphics cards and other solutions. Most famously of all of course is the Republic of Gamers brand, also known as ROG. It's with the ROG brand that they have pushed many of the latest and greatest gaming components of this generation and while Asus has some impressive internal system components, they have also created some impressive peripherals such as the one I will be taking a look at today, the Asus ROG Vulcan ANC PRO Gaming Headset.

Over the past couple of years we have seen a mass influx of brands into the gaming peripheral market, making things more competitive than ever. The longer established brands like Razer and Logitech still win favour with many gamers but that might be about to change.

Today we are going to look at the latest gaming headset from Asus, the Orion Pro. Like the models we’ve seen previously, this falls under the ‘Republic of Gamers’ brand. As a result, we have high expectations for the headset as it must reflect the performance and style that we have experienced with previous models.

The Republic of Gamers (ROG) was established by ASUS in 2006 in order to be the organization's entity that focused solely on the needs of PC gamers. Since then, the ROG has not only produced great gaming hardware, but it has developed into a gaming community. It goes without saying that ASUS has the respect of the vast majority of hardcore gamers out there, and ASUS set out to ensure that the Orion Pro gaming headset would nothing but elevate its reputation. The goal here was to develop a headset that delivered unrivaled audio, yet remained light and comfortable. Benchmark reviews will test the ASUS Orion Pro gaming headset to see if it lives up to the ROG standards...

The ASUS name is synonymous with motherboards, laptops, and desktop computers, but what most folks forget is that they also manufacture high quality computer accessories. Last year we reviewed one of their computer audio products, and were very impressed. In this review we will look at one of their newest audio products - the NC1 noise-canceling headphones.
