Cooler Master has been building mechanical keyboards under its CM Storm line for the last couple of years. They started with the small Quickfire Rapid, and moved over time to larger designs, but Cooler Master’s newest design harkens back to the original Quickfire Rapid, bring improvements on its design and giving it sleek exterior with no markings on the tops of its keys. The question that Benchmark Reviews aims to answer though is whether Cooler Master improved enough to justify the extra cost or are users better off going with the original Quickfire Rapid.

Recently, we reviewed the QuickFire XT keyboard from Cooler Master's CM Storm line-up, and now it is time for us to review the QuickFire Stealh, a compact mechanical keyboard with a unique visual signature: the keys are labeled on the front side, not the top. So, from an upside view, the markings are almost invisible. We will talk about this design now and then proceed to evaluate its performance.

The CM Storm QuickFire Stealth is a compact mechanical keyboard. The QuickFire Stealth gets its small size by eliminating the often unused number pad. CM Storm uses high quality Cherry MX switches providing for a lifespan of 50 million keystrokes. One of the features that are unique about the QuickFire Stealth is that the keycaps do not have the characters printed on the top of them instead they are printed on the front of the keycaps. The keyboard board is coated with rubber and features a steel plate to add even more durability to the keyboard. You can remove the braided cable off of the keyboard for easy transport, plus there are keyboard shortcuts for turning off the windows key and Multimedia controls.
Peripherals
For years now Cooler Master has brought to the masses affordable and clean minimalist looking mechanical keyboards in the form of the QuickFire lineup. While the aesthetic stands in contrast to the rugged looks and military themes of their other signature products, the attention to quality Cooler Master has become so trusted upon is still there. The original tenkeyless Quick Fire Rapid was popular due to its value, space saving functionality, and solid construction, but backlights were on the list as the most requested feature. Earlier this year, the Rapid-i with Cherry MX Brown switches with individually backlit white LEDs was released and now a new Cherry MX Blue switch model has been introduced which we are reviewing.
Peripherals
Since the release of its QuickFire Rapid in late 2011, Cooler Master has done well to capture a good portion of the mechanical keyboard market. Its models are built-well, cater to gamer and traditional user alike, and look good. What’s next? Introducing a keyswitch that no other company in North America can: Cherry MX Green.
Peripherals
Although mechanical keyboards have been making a comeback in recent years many of the design are quite bulky in comparison to their rubber dome counter parts. Looking to fill this area of the market Cooler Master designed the Storm QuickFire Rapid mechanical keyboard using the venerable Cherry MX Blue switches, fit into a comfortable 14" x 5" design. This makes the QuickFire Rapid perfect for LAN parties or mobile workers who may want a better typing experience than their laptops are able to offer. Benchmark Reviews will evaluate if the Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid is the perfect pint size keyboard or if corners were cut in order to meet size and price goals.
Peripherals
CM's QuickFire Rapid gaming keyboard is unlike any other. It's not flashy, it doesn't have a bunch of bright LEDs, it has no macro support and... it has no numpad. So what is it that sets it apart? Its sturdy design and use of CHERRY MX blue mechanical key switches. Let's see if those features make up for what's lacking.
