These mouse pads from ZOWIE GEAR do not have catchy artwork or fancy features, but offer what any professional gamer would want: very good precision, smooth surface and durability.

Zowie Gear präsentiert mit der „FK“ eine puristische, symmetrische und leichte Spielermaus, die als Weiterentwicklung in die Fußstapfen der erfolgreichen „AM“ treten soll.

When it comes to gaming mice, nearly everyone you meet is going to have their own preferences and opinions on which ones are best, and most are fiercely loyal to a certain brand once they get comfortable. It can be difficult to get a long time Logitech or Razer owner to give a different mouse a whirl.

Largely thanks to what i do i get to attend quite a few lanparty/events around Europe (unfortunately time is very limited so i rarely get the chance to travel outside from the EU) most of which are sponsored by manufacturers of gaming related peripherals such as gaming mice, pads, keyboards and headsets. Personally i think it's great that some manufacturers sponsor such events to showcase their products and at the same time support professional teams (at least the ones that have worthy members). I am mentioning all this because the EC1 eVo Gaming Mouse by ZOWIE GEAR we have here with us today was developed by HeatoN (Emil Christensen) a legendary Counter Strike professional player (used to participate in small tournaments up to 2002 myself).

After almost two years, Zowie Gear gives us another chance to look at their products. Today we have the EC1 eVo mouse in black to give the once over.

Zowie are a well known company in the gaming world, famous for their high end gaming mousemats and other gaming peripherals. A company founded by tournament PC gamers, they hold a, “By gamers, For gamers” attitude and strive to create the best equipment they can for PC gamers. Today I’m checking out one of their latest mats, the Zowie G-TF Speed edition.

While mousepads might not be the first thing you think of when we start talking about computer accessories there are lots of gamers out there who can't live without their gaming mousepad. Technology has moved on such that the mousepad is not essential for a mouse to operate, in fact most new mice do work on all surfaces that you are likely to use. This might be the case, but you will find that on some surfaces the mouse sticks, or it doesn't track properly as the surface is not perfectly uniform, this leads to lots of problems.

Following on from our review of the Zowie EC1 mouse endorsed by pro gamer Heaton, we have another couple of products from the same firm also backed by professionals. Again Heaton lends his name, but so does Spawn and these aren't mice, but mats. Packing an interesting stitching technique as well as some clean-cut styling, let's see how these mousing surfaces hold up to our testing procedures.

Today I am taking a look at the G-CM mouse mat from Zowie Gear, a brand who have set quite a name for themselves in the gaming community with their range of gaming peripherals and accessories. A few of us here at eTeknix already use their mouse mats, as well as their mice on a regular basis, so it will be interesting to see if the G-CM lives up to the same high standards we have seen in their other products.
I know most people think of the mouse mat as an after thought, or even something you can get for £1 at your local computer market, or free with a magazine, but there is so much more to the simple mouse mat than just being a slab of material to put your mouse on, or rest your wrist upon. Just take one glance at the setup of any pro gaming team to see what I mean, every one of them will have some kind of custom surface and mouse combination that works best for them. Of course we're not catering to the uneducated masses here and I'm pretty sure that the majority of the eTeknix readers are more than familiar with the basics of a quality gaming surface.
I've been a loyal user of the Zowie Speed G-TF for months now which is Zowie's hard cloth surface, but as much as I love the feedback from it I personally prefer a softer surface due to the long hours I spend at my desk not only gaming, but working and the extra comfort provided by a soft rest for my wrist can go a long way. Either way I'm looking forward to not only testing, but hopefully finding a long term replacement for my G-TF surface
