Mechanical keyboards have become increasingly popular over the last year, particularly as peripheral manufacturers sponsor pro-gaming teams, and today we’ve got one more: The somewhat redundantly titled Cooler Master Quick Fire Rapid, a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard available with your choice of Cherry MX Blue, Brown, Red and Black switches.
Like many other manufacturers, Cooler Master started out in a specialised area (cooling) but has since branched out into a number of different areas, including peripherals. Corsair has followed a similar path and impressed me with their Corsair Vengeance suite of mechanical keyboards and gaming mice; can Cooler Master do the same?

The latest NovaTouch TKL keyboard from Cooler Master is featuring revised switches made in cooperation with Topre which can accommodate regular Cherry MX keycaps and the manufacturer has also included O-rings In order to prevent bottoming out and this way some of the noise is eliminated.

Cooler Master has recently seen fit to branch out their product line with their new Inferno mouse, joining the Sentinel Advance in the lineup for those who, according to Cooler Master, prefer games like World of Warcraft, and other button-hungry, macro-requiring RTS and MMO games.

Trigger-Z represents a slight update from the original Trigger, comes with three switch options with different colored backlights and a large wrist rest for additional comfort. Thanks to the ARM core 32-bit CPU at 72MHz, we are able to work with the hardware macro playback function and five macro keys are available on the left side which can be pre-programmed thanks to the included software interface.

Cooler Master’s CM Storm range of products has been slowly expanding in the last couple of years and now contains a wide range of gaming peripherals. It’s clear that they are trying to compete with the big names in the gaming peripheral market like SteelSeries, Razer and Logitech.
Peripherals
The CM Storm Trigger keyboard from Cooler Master can be ordered in four versions, with both Brown, Black, Red or Blue Cherry MX switches and features red LED lighting for all keys. The intensity of the LEDs can be modified straight from the keys without the need to install the software, but we can also choose a “pulsating” mode, or the ability to have only the frequently used keys for gaming lit like WSAD and arrow keys.

In use, I am very impressed with the Cooler Master CM Storm Trigger gaming keyboard. The feel of the unit as a whole is very solid, and I am sure this could be a reliable keyboard for years longer than most other units I have used. Everything about the keys is nice too... from the feel and responsiveness, to the layout, and especially the back-lighting.
Peripherals
Over the past couple of years the gaming peripherals market has been flooded with new products, both from new and existing manufacturers. Cooler Master’s CM Storm brand is a relitavely new player in the market, competing with the longer-established brands such as SteelSeries and Razer.
Peripherals
CM Storm continues their impressive lineup of gaming peripherals with the Spawn mouse. It looks great, performs even better, and provides a level of comfort that anyone favoring the claw-grip style will appreciate. There's enough buttons to provide plenty of customization options, and Japanese-made Omron switches are beneficial for heavy usage and long term durability.
