It seems like pretty much everyone offers a mechanical gaming keyboard these days, and most of them feature Cherry MX mechanical switches. These of course come at a cost to the manufacturer, making mechanical keyboards more expensive. Well Tt eSPORTS wants to change all of that. Today we are checking out their Poseidon Z Illuminated Gaming Keyboard that features Tt eSPORTS certified Blue mechanical switches that are rated for 50 million keystrokes. Cherry MX is no longer the only recognized manufacturer of mechanical switches in the market (although certainly the most popular) and although some people feel that others can't reach the same level of quality due to lack of experience/expertise i believe that manufacturing a good mechanical switch is not nuclear science and the fact that even gaming peripheral manufacturers like Razer have decided to do so on their own is proof enough. That being said there's a good amount of research that needs to go into the design and manufacture of a mechanical switch but since Cherry MX is the standard currently others need only to "clone" their solutions. Roughly a month ago we had our first encounter with the brand new Kailh Brown mechanical switches which are basically clones of the very well-known Cherry MX Browns and the results were very good. Well to have a better opinion for Kailh mechanical switches today we decided to take a look at the Poseidon Z mechanical gaming keyboard featuring their Blue ones.

The Tt eSPORTS Poseidon keyboard is a fully back-lit mechanical keyboard. The design of the keyboard generally focuses around the basics. The Poseidon uses Cherry MX Brown switches that have a balance of tactile feedback and actuation pressure ideal for gaming. In addition to the tried and tested Cherry MX switches, the Poseidon has a 6-8 N-Key rollover for anti-ghosting so if you have fast fingers the system won’t have a problem identifying the different key strokes.

Today we're looking at the Tt eSPORTS MEKA Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. "Challenge is the game" is their motto and challenge, they do. Upon receiving the keyboard, I was highly impressed with the box art and style. It was a sign of things to come. The keyboard itself is quite heavy for its size - being that it's mechanical would help its weight. The MEKA comes with a braided cable which helps it not only in looks, but practicality - the cable is similar thickness to the Logitech G35 headset's braided cable (as an example). It's even described as "military grade".
