Today for review I've got the Zowie Gear P-RF mousepad or mousing surface, yesterday we looked at the Ulti-mat Breathe F-X3, so I figured why not follow with another pad review. The P-RF is a small pad, but not too small, a bit larger than a standard sheet of paper really, coming in at 13.4 x 11.4 inches. The P-RF features a rubber non-slip backing and it has a water splash proof surface, not sure exactly what that means though. Anyway, read on to learn more

Zowie Gear is a new player in the gaming peripheral market. The company is based in Huntington Beach, California, and will offer mousepads, headphones and other accessories for gamers. Zowie Gear claims their highest ambition is not to become the biggest manufacturer of professional gaming gear, but to become the best. In this review I'm taking a closer look at one of Zowie's first products: the P-RF mousepad. A lot of gaming mousepads are made from plastic these days, but Zowie begs to differ and released the RF gaming surfaces, these mousepads are made out of waterproof cloth.

Not every mouse needs to be some huge gamer palm gripper with MMO buttons, colour changing lights, DPI switches, different profiles and lift off sensors. Sometimes you just want to go back to basics, a slower paced rodent for a slower paced game. That’s what Zowie have purportedly put together in their Mico mouse. It’s “only” got a DPI of 1600 in three different steppings, but they’ve worked together with pro Starcraft players to make it, so it’s unlikely to lower your APM.

Input devices will always be essential on a computer and peoples opinions on what makes a good mouse, for instance will vary so much that it is impossible to design a mouse that fits everyone's tastes. Manufactures for this reason design input devices, especially mice, to fit into a certain category. These can be 'Home and Office use', 'Gamer', 'Graphic Designer' and loads others. The hardest to please of those is usually the Gaming type user, who relies on his mouse and keyboard to play the games. For some people out there, gaming is not just something to do on a wet day and there is certainly a lot of money to be made as a professional gamer.
Peripherals

I put Zowies e-sport gaming headset; the "Hammer" through its paces.
Peripherals
Up on the review block today I’ve got a gaming headset from Zowie Gear called the Hammer. The Hammer is made for gaming specifically, and for gaming it works well, but if you’re looking for a headset that you can use for music and movies as well you might want to look elsewhere. The headset is nicely made with a large boom style microphone, long cables and even two types of ear pads are included.
Peripherals
Multiplayer games being all the rage nowadays, having a headset is essential so you can communicate with your fellow players and, why not, the adversaries as well. Zowie enters the gaming-grade niche with the release of the Hammer E-Sport Headset. The design resembles an old school DJ headphone — a friend has dubbed it "Paradise Garage", referring to the legendary 70's and 80's NY nightclub which was the birthplace of a particular subgenre of house music, garage. The ear cups cover the entire ear, the whole body is very sturdy and reinforced so the microphone bar and headband cannot be easily broken, and it also comes with extra cable so you can walk around the room while using Skype. Let's examine the Hammer in details.

Peripherals
ZOWIE Gear is a new face on the market of gaming and with their first
product, the P-RF mousepad, they have left a very positive impression on me. The P-RF doesn't seem to move an inch under heavy gaming and is accurate in both games and graphic applications.
