Today we are unboxing a very powerful and efficient power supply. It is the Lazer Platinum 1000W Power Supply from Kingwin. As the name suggests this is an 80PLUS Platinum certified power supply. That means it will run at 92% efficient and 50% load and 89% efficient at 100% load. This power supply also features modular cables, which have the flat cable design and Kingwin’s ECO Intelligent Thermal Control System. Read on to check out our unboxing and overview video!

The Ultra Products X4 850W power supply has a lot to recommend it. Its fully modular design is very unique and will be a boon to users with tight cases who like to have neat, tidy installs. The cable assortment is complete and provides the user with plenty of connectors supporting a wide variety of configurations.

If you took the time to read my first review of the Ultra X4 1600 Watt PSU back in February, then you may've walked (or clicked) away being impressed by the features, accessories and overall usability of the unit itself. The only problem is, you don't have three high-end video cards in SLi, let alone the monumental case real-estate required to house such equipment. You may not require an entire power station to run your computer and Ultra knows this. As such, they introduced the Ultra X4 850 Watt Modular PSU into their line-up which is what we're looking at today.

Ultra's latest PSU series, the X4, consists of no less that 7 units with an output ranging from a meager 500W up to a mind blowing 1600W. The X4 series is the successor to the very successful X3 series which has been Ultra's flagship range of products for several years."

So today for review I’ve got a power supply, but not just any, it’s the new X4 750Watt from Ultra. The X4 is a fully modular power supply that makes things much easier when it comes to keeping your case nice and tidy. The X4 also features many cables with enough connections for most any type of setup you’ve got. One of the great features about this PSU is that despite the rather large voltage it’s still a physically small power supply that should fit in most any case.

This time we are going to review the 500 W from the new X4 power supply series from Ultra, which features a fully modular cabling system and single-rail design.

Ultra, the company who’s claim to fame is inventing the modular power supply, brings us another one of their X4 creations. Their last power supply got good marks in the lab, lets see if their more powerful version can pull off the same.

If you’ve noticed lately, everything is more power hungry than ever. A decent video card now requires its own power source, and many people are Crossfiring the crap out of their systems, so that’s twice the original juice flowing through. And now there are Blu-Ray drives, and you'll probably want to keep your old DVD burner for a while, so now you have two optical drives. Twice the power again. Overclock, put in more RAM, a million fans, and all the gadgets that plug into your USB and suck away more energy. Jeeze, people. I hope you are all enjoying that hefty electric bill.

The new LSX series from Ultra so far features only two models, 650 W and 750 W, both with 80 Plus Bronze certification, single +12 V rail, synchronous design with DC-DC modules for the +5 V and +3.3 V outputs in its secondary, and lifetime warranty (if you register the product after buying it).

We'll start with what Tuniq has done right. The Ripper 1000W is a good looking unit; clean finish, sleeved cables with matching heatshrink, connectors and fan grill. The unit comes with plenty of molex connectors and the cables have quite a bit of length in them. In terms of performance, the Ripper finds itself placed comfortably in the middle of the pack- while there are better units available, it outperforms plenty others. Still, all around good performance.
