There are a huge number of power supply companies out there ranging from the well-known brands of Enermax, Corsair and Cooler master to much smaller less well known brands. Today, we have a unit from one of the less publicised companies – InWin. To start off, we must say that we were really disappointed with the name chosen by Arctic Cooling for this product. 550RF leads you to believe that this is a 550 W product, when in fact it is a 500 W power supply. The 550 W on the name is the peak power, which according to the manufacturer can be sustained for only ONE SECOND. This kind of gimmick is typically used by low-end manufacturers and we wouldn't expect this from a Swiss-based company. But besides that, is Fusion 550RF a good product? Let's see.
The Thermaltake Litepower 450W is rated for a very respectable 85% efficiency, which places it in the 80 Plus Bronze classification. Another feature of the Litepower to be noted is the impressive five year warranty offered by Thermaltake. The Litepower 450W has some features more often associated with a high quality power supply, such as the large 120mm fan, open mesh rear vent and a nice amount of heft to the unit. The UL identification number E190414, indicates that this particular unit is manufactured by FSP Group.

The units from these bigger brand names tend to come at a price but is that price really justified compared to other units especially when we know that many smaller companies produce OEM units for the bigger ones. Unusually for a psu the Fusion 550R comes in a clear blown plastic type “box”, nothing wrong with that though, as it shows of the psu in all its glory with its “ECO80” sticker in full view. Also on the front is a small picture of the unit along with a few lines regarding the features of the unit.
Arctic Cooling releases a new product with silent rotating fan under their own brand name. Overall a properly priced product with low noise, good performance and some issues with cable length.

It has been more than a year since Thermaltake diversified into the power supply market. We reviewed a few of their mainstream supplies back then and found them to be competitive and appealing products. Today we will have a look at a PSU from their latest high performance series, the Toughpower XT 850W. Thermaltake designed the Toughpower XT series with enthusiasts in mind and the result is a very interesting product with a massive 12V line and a very long range of features. That said, the power output and retail price pit it against the very best products currently available. We will soon see if it has what it takes to compete with the rest of the products of its class.

Vor ungefähr einem Jahr haben wir uns das 650 und 750W Modell der mittlerweile erfolgreichen TX-Serie angesehen, welche sich durch die hohe Qualität und aktuelle Technik auszeichnet. In diesem Review sehen wir uns mit dem TX850W das Topmodell der Serie an und prüfen ob Corsair auch hier mit der gewohnt hohen Qualität überzeugen kann.
