One of the unique design traits to SilverStone's modular power supplies is that they're fully modular. Where as most manufacturers will hard wire the mandatory cables, usually the motherboard, EPS/ATX and one PCIE connector, SilverStone has opted to make even those cables removable. Their reasoning behind this design choice is well justified though; they have a variety of after market cable options that can do everything from giving you short cables for small form factor cases, or premium looking cables for enthusiasts with windowed cases. Today I have the PP06 cables here which have each individual wire (not wire strand, but wire) sleeved in a premium quality material mesh sleeving. The PP06 cables look great at first glance and are bound to add some flashy looks to your case, so let's check them out!

The Nightjar is a series of fanless power supplies from SilverStone, with the 80 Plus Bronze certification. Lets see if the new 500 W model is a good option.
Power Supply
SilverStone has released a completely fanless 400 W power supply, thus producing absolutely no noise, using a high-end design. Can it survive our tests? Let's see.
Power Supply
SilverStone Element power supply series is being out for some years now, and we were curious to review their popular 500 W model, ST50EF-Plus. It is important to know that models from SilverStone Element series can be manufactured by two distinct companies: models up to 600 W are manufactured by Enhance Electronics, while models starting at 650 W are manufactured by Seventeam. SilverStone uses a lot of different manufacturers for their power supplies. Besides Enhance and Seventeam, units from their Decathlon series are manufactured by Impervio and units from their Strider series are manufactured by FSP. Phew!

Every computer needs a power supply to run, which just goes without saying. But a power
supply is not just a power supply. There are many factors that come into play, such as
12 volt rails, available amps, modular / non-modular, 80 Plus certification. If you have
not already guessed it, today we look at a power supply from Silverstone. The name is
STRIDER Plus, and it offers a very compact and 100% modular design. It is becoming more
and more popular to build small, powerful computers and that needs plenty of power,
which the SilverStone STRIDER Plus 600 Watt is capable of.

APH Networks reviews the Strider Gold Evolution 750W, which is an updated version of the Strider Gold. How does it stack up? We took one apart to find out.

In this current society, most people don’t realise how much power is actually needed to power a high-end or even a modern PC. There are standard default models which are around 100-150 Watts for small standalone computers which are purely used to connect you to the internet to watch music or watch movies. That being said there are also computers which require ten times the standard PSU with multiple 12 Volt lines for over one hundred pounds at least for the computer enthusiasts. The ‘class’ of PSU recommended for most self-built systems of mid to high end rigs are around 500 Watts, so for this review we had an interesting 500 Watt PSU, presenting the Silver Power SP-SS500 500W. This PSU was tested in a mid-end computer using triple core AMD processor.

You may not have heard of Silver Power before, but when they approached us with a fanless power supply for review, we were intrigued. Not only that, but it is a modular design with 80 Plus Certification. Today we find out if it is a good first choice for a new media center build.
