In unserem heutigen Test möchten wir euch ein 550 Watt Netzteil der Marke Cougar vorstellen aus dem Hause COMPUCASE. HEC COMPUCASE Enterprise Co. Ltd. wurde bereits 1979 gegründet und ist heute weltweit einer der führenden Hersteller und Entwickler von PC-Gehäusen, Netzteilen und Industriegehäusen. Today HardwareHeaven are going to have a look at a model from the best power supply family OCZ has to offer, the Z Series. The Z Series consists of only two units at this point of time and it is the 850W model which we will review today. OCZ must be very confident about their Z- series, claiming boldly that these products are "nothing but the best". In this review HardwareHeaven are going to put the Z Series 850W to the test and see how well this unit can really perform.
The all new StealthXStream 2 600W power supply is truly impressive. Performance is spot on, and as the name suggests, it is quiet. But, the most impressive thing of all is the price. Available for $45 dollars after rebate, the unit is an incredible bargain.
For this review I will be looking at another new power supply from our friends over at Nexus. This power supply is similar to the power supply I looked at recently but this version is modular, the unit I will be looking at for this review is the 530watt RX-5300. Being a big fan of Nexus power supplies, having looked at a few before, I expect nothing short of rock solid, and I am pretty sure I won’t be disappointed.
Today I have Cougar's 550W PowerX power supply on the bench. The PowerX is a 550W power supply with a unique orange coloured chassis, 80PLUS Bronze certification, and a price tag that's well within reach of all potential buyers.
One of the unique design traits to SilverStone's modular power supplies is that they're fully modular. Where as most manufacturers will hard wire the mandatory cables, usually the motherboard, EPS/ATX and one PCIE connector, SilverStone has opted to make even those cables removable. Their reasoning behind this design choice is well justified though; they have a variety of after market cable options that can do everything from giving you short cables for small form factor cases, or premium looking cables for enthusiasts with windowed cases. Today I have the PP06 cables here which have each individual wire (not wire strand, but wire) sleeved in a premium quality material mesh sleeving. The PP06 cables look great at first glance and are bound to add some flashy looks to your case, so let's check them out!
Wir hatten es ja bereits im Enermax Pro82+ II Review angedeutet, es wird noch ein weiterer Test in dieser Preis-und Leistungskategorie stattfinden, um unsere Bestenliste in dieser Hinsicht weiter abzurunden. Als Kandidaten haben wir uns das SE 400 Netzteil von Cougar ausgesucht, mit anderen Worten ein Netzteil von HEC/Compucase. Da es mal wieder Zeit für eine Stichprobe wurde, orderten wir das Netzteil bei einem Händler unserer Wahl, damit der mögliche Kunde auch erfährt, was tatsächlich in den Regalen der Händler liegt.
Das Cougar SE 400 bringt ein 80+Silber Zertifikat mit, das ist zwar kein technisches Gütesiegel, aber für diese Kategorie insofern relevant, da die Konkurrenz im Vergleich fast durchweg 80+ Bronze Netzteile anbietet. Das Netzteil soll also sehr effizient arbeiten, dabei dank eines flüssigkeitsgelagerten Lüfters sehr leise agieren und auch sonst durch hochwertige Bauteile alles das mitbringen, was wir und auch der Käufer von einem sehr guten Mitteklasse Netzteil für knapp unter 70 Euro erwarten. Ob dem wirklich so ist und ob die Prospektangaben mit der Realität korrespondieren, erfahrt ihr in unserem ausführlichen Review, dazu wünschen wir euch viel Vergnügen...
Cougar hat neben vielen anderen Serien auch die A-Baureihe verbessert. Die Änderungen betreffen hauptsächlich das Äußere und einige weitere Details, um etwa die Lautstärke zu verringern. Damit möchte sich Cougar stärker von der Konkurrenz unterscheiden. Nach wie vor gehört die A-Serie aber eher zu den günstigeren Produkten, weshalb wir heute einen Blick auf die Qualität werfen möchten. Hier haben wir das A660 erhalten, welches neben dem A560 und dem A760 zu den kompletten neuen Modellen gehört. Diese werden laut Cougar exklusiv an Alternate verkauft, sind aber auch bereits bei anderen Fachhändlern gelistet. Wir weisen ausdrücklich darauf hin, dass es sich bei diesem Testmuster um ein "pre-production sample" handelt.
Die ZS-Serie von OCZ soll den Einsteigerbereich bedienen und dabei diejenigen Kunden ansprechen, die eine Leistung von mehr als 550 W benötigen. Ein typisches Beispiel der Kombination aus viel Leistung und geringem Preis. Wir klären, ob OCZ diese Kombination in Form des ZS 650W auf eine solide Art und Weise realisieren konnte.
