Recently there have been lots of similar looking gaming style headsets released which quite frankly have all been the same. The headsets are either stereo headsets, or headsets pretending to offer 5.1 or even 7.1 surround sound. While all the companies producing these surround sound headsets will claim that they give you the full surround sound feel, it is at best, virtual and produced digitally. When you stop and think about it, does it seem possible for 5.1 surround sound to be played through 2 speakers? While it may not be truly possible they certainly give it a good go.

Recently at Tech-Reviews we’ve been reviewing a lot of high wattage power supplies. We haven’t however looked at the lower range units. Luckily today though, we’ve been handed a Tuniq Potency 550W to review. Can it live up to the same performance standards as higher wattage units? Well there is only one way to find out, introducing the Tuniq Potency 550 Watt

Even though many enthusiasts have heard of Sunbeamtech before, less so are familiar with Tuniq. Tuniq is a subsidiary company to Sunbeamtech, dedicated to designing and producing high performance and stylish products for a more demanding audience. Today we are going to have a look at their product range with a review of the Potency 650W PSU. The Potency is a mid range product with very interesting specifications and Tuniq promises excellent overall performance.

Tuniq Potency 750 W is a 80 Plus Bronze-certified power supply that can be found costing USD 100 (or only USD 70 after a mail-in rebate). The price is right, but what about performance? Let's see.

We'll start with what Tuniq has done right. The Ripper 1000W is a good looking unit; clean finish, sleeved cables with matching heatshrink, connectors and fan grill. The unit comes with plenty of molex connectors and the cables have quite a bit of length in them. In terms of performance, the Ripper finds itself placed comfortably in the middle of the pack- while there are better units available, it outperforms plenty others. Still, all around good performance.

The new LSX series from Ultra so far features only two models, 650 W and 750 W, both with 80 Plus Bronze certification, single +12 V rail, synchronous design with DC-DC modules for the +5 V and +3.3 V outputs in its secondary, and lifetime warranty (if you register the product after buying it).

If you’ve noticed lately, everything is more power hungry than ever. A decent video card now requires its own power source, and many people are Crossfiring the crap out of their systems, so that’s twice the original juice flowing through. And now there are Blu-Ray drives, and you'll probably want to keep your old DVD burner for a while, so now you have two optical drives. Twice the power again. Overclock, put in more RAM, a million fans, and all the gadgets that plug into your USB and suck away more energy. Jeeze, people. I hope you are all enjoying that hefty electric bill.

Ultra, the company who’s claim to fame is inventing the modular power supply, brings us another one of their X4 creations. Their last power supply got good marks in the lab, lets see if their more powerful version can pull off the same.

This time we are going to review the 500 W from the new X4 power supply series from Ultra, which features a fully modular cabling system and single-rail design.
Power Supply
So today for review I’ve got a power supply, but not just any, it’s the new X4 750Watt from Ultra. The X4 is a fully modular power supply that makes things much easier when it comes to keeping your case nice and tidy. The X4 also features many cables with enough connections for most any type of setup you’ve got. One of the great features about this PSU is that despite the rather large voltage it’s still a physically small power supply that should fit in most any case.
