While this particular unit is not made for the flashy high end components we normally feature here at Ninjalane it is a perfect PSU for an OEM computer looking for a replacement or for building that general purpose system on a budget.

When it comes to PSUs, for years now the ATX unit has taken centre stage with little thought going into producing a different form factor. However, Antec have changed all this and decided that it is time for a revamp. Their new form factor, christened the CPX, is a lot bigger so as to allow more room for the guts and allow a less restrictive airflow. Electrically, it’s just an ATX power supply but unfortunately the size means that a limited selection of cases can take the unit – unless of course you’re into modding. Antec clearly hope the new form factor catches on and their first model is the CP-850, but is all the hype really justified?

There are many components inside a PC which seem to be requiring increasing amounts of power as they seem to require huge wattages to function correctly. This is why the PSU market has advanced massively in recent years with PSU’s with wattages up to 1200 watts and beyond not uncommon. Most PC’s however will not require such a huge amount of power which is why there are many high performance, lower wattage PSU’s currently on offer. With this in mind I introduce the: OCZ Fatal1ty 550w PSU.

The electronics store chain Best Buy has several house brands and two of them are used for computer components: Dynex and Rocketfish. We have already reviewed Dynex 400 W power supply and Rocketfish 700 W power supply. While the models we reviewed a while ago were manufactured by Huntkey, Best Buy decided to hire a different company for their 550 W model: CWT. They also replaced Huntkey as the manufacturer for their 700 W model, so the 700 W model you find now on stores today (labeled "RF-700WPS2" is manufactured by CWT, not by Huntkey anymore. Let's see if this new 550 W power supply survives our tests.

The idea of a single adapter to charge and power your laptop and all your other mobile devices is very appealing and would be especially desirable by business travelers who depend on these devices for their livelihood. Cooler Master's release of the SNA 95 has garnered more than a little attention around the web and I was excited to get one for evaluation. However, after using the thing for a week or so, I'm a bit underwhelmed.
