After going through SilverStone’s ST1000-P and seeing the quality it offered, we thought it would be great to take a look at something a little less high from SilverStone. What we came up with was the ST50F-P. SilverStone also suggested that we take a look at their PP05 Short Cable Kit, so we have included it in this review.

At CES 2010 SilverStone announced that it would be consolidating its power supply lines into a single series, the Strider. That model name has been in use for years, however all of the new Strider models feature 80Plus certification and modular cables, something the older units didn't offer. The one we have for review today is the Strider Plus 600W. Appearing very similar to its 750W sibling, this unit has identical 150mm x 160mm x 86mm dimensions, the same silent 135mm fan, single +12V rail design and offers many of the same protection features such as over-current, over-power, over/under-voltage and short-circuit.
The Cooler Master V850 sets some very high standards for itself in its spec and feature sheet alone. The Cooler Master V850 boasts an 840 watt single 12V rail, 80 PLUS Gold certification and all modular cables featuring six 6+2 PCIe connectors right off the bat.
