Physically, Phenom II X2 core is a quad-core Phenom II die. Rejected quad-core dice are locked down to obtain processors with fewer cores and maximize yield. Athlon II, it turn, has the Regor die with two physical cores and no L3 cache. As a result, this die is only 117.5 mm², while Deneb takes up 258 mm². It will be interesting to see how the lack of L3 cache affects performance of the K10 core.

The Core i3 is a CPU series manufactured by Intel aimed to value computers. It is the third Intel processor with an integrated memory controller (the Core i7 and Core i5 were the first two). Core i3 processors are based on the Core architecture, like the Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad CPUs, but with several enhancements to increase performance (Nehalem microarchitecture). Un lancement qui se fait en deux temps pour diverses raisons. Tout d'abord, il faut savoir que l'on arrive un peu en retard par rapport à ce qui était prévu au départ, puisqu'il était question du premier trimestre 2012. Intel disposait néanmoins de ses chipsets et ne voulait certainement pas retarder les constructeurs de cartes mères, avides de nouvelles ventes, plus longtemps.

We don't get to use our Surround Vision / Eyefinity setup that much with the last time we used it being when we tested the MARS 2 from ASUS. Really, though, since then there's not been much reason to use it. With video card setups being pretty quiet lately and nothing changing in that department this year, the monitor setup has just been gathering hardware around it. Until today, though, where I found myself cleaning for an hour before I could actually move my testbed next to it.
