The Core i7 is a CPU series manufactured by Intel aimed at high-range computers. In this tutorial, we will present a series of quick reference tables for you to compare the main differences between all models released to date.

When it comes to CPUs there are only a few options available when you are looking for the fastest performance. Up until now you could go with a Haswell CPU or if you wanted more cores The Ivy Bridge-E CPUs. AMDs has done well on the integrated GPU side of things but for pure CPU power Intel has been the only way to go. Recently Intel announced their latest refresh with their Devil’s Canyon CPUs. Today I finally have the chance to put the i7-4790k to the test and see what kind of improvement it is over the i7-4770k.

Intel is planning to launch the successor to the current Atom lineup in Q4
2009 with 45nm Pineview single core processor based on Lincroft
architecture. The dual core version will come along a quarter later in Q1
2010.

Overclocking non-top processors (that do not have special options to facilitate the process) requires following certain rules. There are certain tricks of the trade, which we're going to cover in this article.

Many reviewers and interested users said that it made no sense to upgrade from DDR2 to DDR3. So it must be really hard for the new memory type to justify its existence, even if there are some technical prerequisites for it already. We decided to publish a thorough analysis of the situation.

Yesterday at Computex, AMD took the wraps off of two highly anticipated processors: the Athlon II X2 250 and the Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition. Both are based on AMD's 45nm SOI process with the key difference being the amount of L3 cache. The Phenom II X2 550, codenamed Callisto, gets the full 6 MB cache of the Phenom II family and will serve as AMD's new flagship dual-core processor. The Athlon II X2 250, on the other hand, is based on the new native dual-core Regor die that omits L3 cache completely and targets the mainstream segment. Benchmark Reviews was fortunate to receive samples of both processors. Yesterday we covered the Phenom II X2 550 and today we bring you the Athlon II X2 250 ADX250OGQBOX.

Today we are looking at the AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition AM3 processor. This specific CPU runs at 125w and is AMD’s flagship processor at the present time.

The introduction of the Core i7 range of processors late last year was the beginning of the Nehalem family. The processors have had a mixed reception and it is fair to say that although the new series has been impressive performance wise, the pricing was and still is too much for many users. After all, the LGA1366 socket requires not only the processor but also an X58 motherboard and triple channel DDR3 memory.

AMD's most recent 45nm Athlon II processor just graduated from dual, to quad core. The AMD Athlon II X4 620 is a 2.6 GHz socket AM3 chip destined for mainstream PCs; could it be the darling CPU option for those on a budget? One thing's for certain, there couldn't be a better chip to land in the midst of global belt-tightening, especially as the quad-core Athlon II X4 620 retails for just $99 bucks.
