Intel recently released the companies first Pentium processors for the Intel LGA1155 CPU socket that utilize the Intel 32nm Sandy Bridge architecture. The Intel Pentium processor family is comprised of three new SKUs, called the G620, G840 and G850. We have the Intel Pentium Processor G850 on the test bench to find out how this 2.9GHz dual-core processor does against half a dozen other processors!
Well folks, we might be a little late to the party, but we can’t have the CPU section of this site looking as light as it does, so it’s time to add another to that small collective. As you might know, AMD has managed to remain the leader in graphic chipsets, but Intel still holds both the mobile and hybrid computing markets. This is where the Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) comes in to play for it is a combination of CPU and GPU all rolled into one. It is AMD’s response to Intel’s SandyBridge and referred to as ‘Llano’. The AMD A6-3650 is the budget-friendly little brother to the AMD A8-3850 we did a review on last month.

Companies are having some great success with the new A75 platform, achieving RAM speeds of 2400MHz+ DDR, strong overclocks and doing all that fun stuff we've become so used to doing with the AMD platform. I think the biggest surprise about the A75 platform isn't that it just performs so well when you leave the clocks alone, but the fact that it can be overclocked so well and you can have so much fun with it. Hitting memory speeds of 2000MHz+ DDR while possible on the Phenom line up was quite rare, hitting higher was even rarer.

Today we will be looking at the more budget friendly AMD A6-3650 2.6GHz APU that costs $20 less at $119.99 shipped. We also spend some time overclocking this processor and managed to get it up to 3.8GHz with an AMD heatsink!
HP hat sich in diesem Jahr viel Zeit mit der Aktualisierung seiner Notebooks auf die aktuelle Sandy-Bridge-Plattform gelassen. Natürlich liegt dies zum Teil am allseits bekannten Chipsatz-Bug, andere Hersteller waren aber eben doch schneller. Jetzt liegt uns mit der neuesten Version des HP Pavillion dv7, genauer gesagt, der Version dv7-6101eg ein 17-Zoll-Consumer-Gerät vor, das nicht nur mit einem tollen Alu-Gehäuse, sondern auch mit einem Intel Core i5-2410M und einer Radeon HD 6770M punkten möchte. Gut Ding will Weile haben – ob dem so ist wird sich zeigen.
