AMD Guru Chris Mikesell spent more time with us showcasing the Batman game running on Zacate hardware then comparing the exact same scene running on a Core i5 based laptop with integrated graphics. As you will see the experience was much faster and smoother on the AMD system.

Nach unserem Preview steht nun der Review des Intel Core i5-760 an. Wie schlägt sich der Quad-Core-Prozessor in den Benchmarks?

Code named 'Thuban', the new 3.2GHz AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor introduces with it a dynamic overclocking technology called TurboCore. In typical computing situations AMD TurboCore will increase the speed of up to three of the Phenom II X6's CPU cores from 3.2GHz to 3.6GHz, while simultaneously increasing processor voltage and dropping the speed of the remaining three unloaded cores. The technology acts much like Intel TurboBoost and in benchmarks such as PCMark Vantage AMD TurboCore does result in a noticeable performance boost.

What should you do, if you aren't willing to spend more than 150-250 dollars on a processor? Obviously, you'll have to compromise, e.g. choose Core i5 instead of Core i7 (if you need an Intel CPU, that is). But there are a lot of Core i5 processors in the market. How do they perform? We'll see in this review.

Are you curious how the new Intel Sandy Bridge processor architecture performs in mobile platforms? We have the new Intel Core i7-2820QM processor locked and loaded in a Compal notebook that should make most desktop PCs run away and duck for cover. After checking out this 2.3Ghz quad-core processor with Hyper-Threading and 8MB of L3 cache, you might not ever look at your old notebook the same way!

The New Year is starting off well for the computer hardware industry. Intel is releasing the long-awaited Sandy Bridge platform and AMD is filling in more of the Phenom-II and Athlon-II series. The two AMD CPUs set for release in early January 2011 are the Phenom-II X4-840 and the Phenom-II X4-975BE. The Phenom-II X4-840 HDX840WFK42GM is the latest budget quad-core processor released by AMD. Set for release at an MSRP of only $102, the Phenom-II X4-840 could be a very affordable quad-core processor that brings a high level of performance to your computer without breaking the bank. In this article, Benchmark Reviews will help you decide if you want to spend some of your holiday cash on the new Phenom-II X4-840 CPU.

At the end of 2008, AMD’s share price was just under $1.82. At the time we sat down to write this article, they were trading at $9.18. You don’t need a degree from the London School of Economics to see a 500% rise. There will have been lots of factors, but one is very hard to ignore – and that’s the shake-up in personnel at the very top of the organisation. As Corporate Vice President for World Wide Sales, John Byrne’s main responsibilities are channel sales and looking after small and medium sized businesses – as well as managing partner relationships with the major Taiwanese vendors. KitGuru caught up with Scotsman Byrne for an exclusive interview on how he sees AMD.

The other day when we saw the A-Series APU launch from AMD we had in depth look at the A8-3850 APU while also covering the new chipset associated with it. If you haven't already looked at it, I recommend you do head on over and check out our launch Llano coverage.
