Description
At its event in Korea, Samsung just introduced the new 840 EVO series of SSDs. It's set to replace existing 840 SSDs, will have capacities of up to 1 TB and will be capable of much higher write speeds. Aside from introducing a new product series, Samsung also shared its vision on the future of SSDs. Serial ATA will be replaced by PCI-Express as primary interface, and the software controller AHCI will be replaced by NVM Express. Both should lead to a significant performance boost, especially when combined.
