Examining The SSD Industry - Researching The Controller or Processor is our third submission of several which examines the SSD industry from the ground up and provides some thought provoking ideals through the mind of Wayne Eisenberg, former VP of Worldwide Sales at SMART Modular. Within the series, topics will explore such things as the benefit of proprietary NAND in SSDs, the importance of the controller, firmware, warranties, as well as the changing face of the SSD arena as we see it. All reports are the thoughts and opinions of Wayne himself, a man who many would agree is probably one of the most versed in the industry, and has kindly agreed to open up the forum to discussion and questions by way of article comments.
