The Eisberg 240L Prestige comes well protected from outer influences, that none of the parts included will be damaged during transportation. Cooler Master includes not only an Intel but also an AMD mounting kit. Therefore the cooler is compatible to both worlds right out of the box. Furthermore the manufacturer puts two of his own 120 millimeter fans into the box. The fans don't support the PWM feature and they operate with up to 1600 rotations per minute. Compared to other manufacturers Cooler Master doesn't team up with Asetek or Cool IT for this closed-loop watercooler. Instead they chose to team up with the German company Alphacool, which was able to gather substantial experience in creating premium watercooling solutions. Therefore it's no surprise the Cooler Master proudly says that they have created a new state of the art all-in-one watercooler.
Cooler Master provided the Eisberg 240L Prestige with a dual fan heat-exchanger which offers space for two 120 millimeter fans. The manufacturer makes use of a heat-exchanger that is made from cooper entirely. This is one of the main reasons why this all-in-one water cooler isn't as cheap as others since most of the other closed-loop solutions are made from aluminium. But as you might expect you get better cooling performance from an all-copper design. If you look at the heat exchanger from an angle you can see the copper shimmer through, suggesting that Cooler Master was saving money when it comes to the paint job. In fact, putting a very thin layer of paint allows better heat exchange. A closer look at the CPU block reveals that Cooler Master equipped the Eisberg with quite a big unit. The unit serves three purposes: cooler, pump and reservoir. For the cooler part they've chosen a micro fin array made from copper. When it comes to the pump they cooperate with Eheim. What they've done is, they have built a radial pump that operates with up to 3'600 rpm. At these speeds the noise it produces is just unbearable and very disturbing. Cooler Master should seriously consider using another pump. Furhtermore you get two 120 mm fans with this all-in-one watercooler. Those two fans don't support the PWM feature and their standard rotation speed is 1'600 rpm. At these speed their are very well audible and most users wont like the noise level. Nevertheless using voltage regulation adaptors or a fancontroller you can easily lower the rotation speeds to 800 rpm. At this point the fans are silent and you still get plenty of cooling performance.
We did not see any manufacturing mistakes on our sample, and it seems that it has been well made which means that manufacturing quality is on an good level. On the heat-exchanger you see quite a few dents but this is normal with watercoolers. The manufacturer decided to provide the heat-exchanger with oval water tubes. Therefore they have been able to increase cooling surface. A closer look at the CPU coolers case shows that Cooler Master chose solid plastic. When we removed the cooler there were no weird surprises like something coming off. From this angle the Eisberg Prestige is a high-quality product.
Cooler Master ships their Eisberg 240L Prestige with mounting kits that are compatible to the most common Intel and AMD sockets. Basically mounting the cooler is very simple and we didn't even have to check the manual. Even beginner will feel comfortable installing this cooler, since it's easy and self explanatory.
Thanks to the compact cooling unit you'll find plenty of space on any board. You can be dead sure that there will be no compatibility issues at all.

General | + | - | |
Cooler Master is leaving us with mixed feelings when it comes to their Eisberg 240L Prestige all-in-one watercooler. On one hand you have the cooling performance which is excellent, no doubt. On the other hand there is the pump and its rattling noise which is just unbearable. An all-in-one watercooler that goes for more than 150 Euros (est. CHF 180.-), should definitely be equipped with a pump that's close to inaudible, otherwise it's just not worth additional bucks. While testing this product we got the feeling, that it's not yet finished. It might have been a wise descision to postpone the launch date for this product and optimize certain parts until they work absolutely perfetct. | - Cooling capacity | - Pump is loud
Installation | + | - | |
The installation process is very easy and there are very few cooler which are easier to install. In fact we can only remember the Enermax all-in-one watercooler which is as easy to install as the Eisberg. Mounting this cooler really is piece of cake and we think even to a beginner this is self explanatory. | - Super easy - Compatible with Intel and AMD sockets
Performance | + | - | |
During our tests we used the Cooler Master fans, which were included in delivery. If you drive these 120 millimeter fans at 7 Volt they are silent and at 12 Volt (1'600 rpm) they can be described as well audible. A closer look at the test results shows that the Eisberg 240L Prestige has been able to reach the first place in both our comparison charts. | - Excellent cooling capacity | - Fans loud at 1'600 rpm
Recommendation | + | - | |
If you don't care about the noise level of your setup and cooling performance is the only important thing to you, then the Eisberg 240L Prestige could really be the right thing for you. On the other hand, if you prefer to have a silent setup, then you'd have to go for another solution. |
