  • Masterkeys Pro L – NVIDIA Edition

The Masterkeys Pro L – NVIDIA Edition is a gaming keyboard with standard layout belonging to the vendors new Masterkeys series. At the moment the Masterkeys line-up features two types of keyboards: full-size standard layout and a compact-size (ten-key-less without numpad). The Masterkeys Pro L – NVIDIA Edition is very similar to the full-size Masterkeys Pro L, which we've reviewed quite some time ago. There are no additional macro or multimedia buttons and it does not take as much space on the desk as other high-end keyboard do. Especially at LAN parties this can be an advantage, since space at such events is always limited.
The Masterkeys Pro L – NVIDIA Edition is a mechanical keyboard and it is available on the market with CherryMX Red and it provides a great tactile feedback. The two main features of the Masterkeys Pro L – NVIDIA Edition is its green backlight and the fact that is fully customizable even without the software. At the top are three buttons allowing you to selection the different modes as well as the backlight intensitivity.

If you lift the Masterkeys Pro L – NVIDIA Edition up and flip it you will understand how robust it actually is. The build quality is on an extraordinarily high level. Even hardcore gamers (famous for destroying one keyboard after another) will enjoy that this particular model will last for a long time. Regarding connectivity, Cooler Master decided to use a black USB 2.0 cable, which is removable and sleeved.

Conclusion

General + -
Despite its compact dimensions and the lack of special features like macro keys, this is a well-designed and ergonomic keyboard. The coating on the individual keycaps is great and the CherryMX switches provide precise tactile feedback. We particularly enjoyed the presence of a keypuller inside the box. Despite being a rather basic and cheap piece of accessory it is a great help if you want to remove the individual keycaps. Apart from that there is the backlight, which can be configured without software.   - Weight

Manufacturing quality / Ergonomics   + -
From the ergonomics point of view, the keyboard is comfortable to use, but a wrist rest would have been appreciated. The Masterkeys Pro L – NVIDIA Edition gaming keyboard features a standard layout and it is ideal for all those gamers who frequently visit LAN parties or do not wish the keyboard to take up to much space on their desk. Despite the fact that this is a gaming keyboard, the Masterkeys Pro L – NVIDIA Edition doesn't offer any special button or macro keys, there are only a few buttons with two functions. The build quality and the materials used is simply excellent. Last but not least, we really like the grip and the coating of the individual keycaps. The design is a subjective aspect, but we think that the green backlight it's absolutely well made and you will really enjoy it if you have a NVIDIA graphics card inside your gaming PC. The backlight is clear and you can choose from different modes without any trouble.   - Build quality
- Comfort
- No palmrest

Recommendation / Price   + -
A closer look at the price of the Masterkeys Pro L – NVIDIA Edition reveals that you have to pay 133 Euro in order enjoy this keyboard. For this price you get a gaming keyboard, which features mechanical switches and a very high build quality. Despite all this good features we think that the price is very steep.   - Gaming
