Corsair Harpoon RGB Review
Category : Mice
Published by Marc Büchel on 13.12.16
The Harpoon RGB is Corsair's latest gaming mouse. This particular product combines an very attractive price point with good build quality. Apart from that there is an optical sensor with 6000 DPI resolution. We're actually pretty curious to find out whether a sub 30 Euro mouse is able to convince us or not.

Today we are checking out the latest optical gaming mouse from Corsair, which goes by the name Harpoon RGB.

Closer Look

Already at a first glance it becomes clear that the Harpoon RGB is a harmoniously and ergonomically shaped gaming mouse. Corsair is making use of a classic shape and the dimensions are average. The materials are well-made and the mouse is also well manufactured with a lot of attention to detail. The rough and porous surface ensures excellent grip, while the smooth top makes it very comfortable right from the beginning. Other than that, the Corsair Harpoon RGB features a very smooth surface with a black matte finish. The materials used are of very good quality and comfortable. The Corsair Harpoon RGB gaming mouse features a total of six buttons which are fully programmable via software. The top of the mouse features the classic button devoted to the DPI setting as well as a solid wheel entirely covered with rubber. All the buttons are placed precisely where they belong, and even the top ones are easy to reach and not prone to accidental clicks.

Back

Corsair decided to equip the Harpoon RGB with a Pixart PMW3320 sensor. The maximum resolution is 6000 DPI, which is more than enough for any kind of gamer. The optical sensor is placed in the center. If you are looking for additonal weights, you will be disappointed, since this mouse does not allow for any customization in that direction. Corsair decided to provide the Harpoon RGB with four small, high-quality glide pads. Furthermore, the glide pads are made from teflon, which means they will last for a very long time. A closer look at the cable reveals that it has been not braided with a black braid.

Software

Unlike many other manufacturers, Corsair does not include the software inside the package but you can always download the latest version from the official website. The software GUI is perfectly in line with the attractive design of the mouse and it is practical and easy to use. With the supplied software, you can configure basically everything you might like to set yourself, such as for example, lighting, DPI, macros and much more.
