On June the 17. Apple released the latest firmware 3.0 for the iPhone. The revised and enhanced operating System now comes with numerouse new features which we present in the following article.

Spolight and the iPhone
A very new function with the OS 3.0 is spotlight. As you might know from a Mac Spotlight is an index search feature which finds everything which is situated on your iPhone. The following examples shows searching for "Li":
Shuffle
Analog to the new iPod Nano the iPhone now also supports generating a random playlist by shaking the device. Listeners who do not like to listen to the their tracks in always the same order will be happy with this.
Also the forward-function has been enhanced and is now easier to use. Now the circle which marks the actual position in the track is being framed as soon as the iPhone recognizes that you'd want to forward. By stroking downwards you can make forwarding solwer.

Sending MMS/SMS
The application SMS can now be found with the name "Messages" instead of the earlier "Text". After a long time waiting you now can also send MMS with your iPhone. By pushing on the small camera icon in the bottom left corner you can afterwards choose a picture you'd like to include into your message. The following pictures shows adding a picture to a text message:

Copy & Paste
The Copy/Paste feature has been awaited since the iPhone hit the market. Now with the Firmware version 3.0 it is available at last. As for Apple typical the features has been implemented in a way that it handles as easy as possible.
To copy a text you'll have to stroke over it with you finger and using the blue markers you can select the part you'd like to copy. Following you can press the black, marked area and the selection is in the clipboard. Now you can open whatever application you want to and insert your copied text.

Conclusion
Once more Apple enhanced the iPhone by another useful features and functions which fit into the concept neatly.
Generally spoken all the new features and fuctions are as for Apple typical very well implementen. Therefore it doesn't matter if you look at Copy/Paste, sending MMS or the new practical possibility to generate a random playlist by shaking the device.
With the third Firmware Version for the iPhone Apple now make features and functions available which the community around the globe was waiting for eagerly. As a consequence we strongly recommend upgrading your iPhone to the latest version.
