The Fuel+ 2200 and Fuel+ 3000 are about the most compact power banks you can get from Patriot. Unlike the 9000 mAh model we reviewed earlier, the version we tested here features an ultra compact and portable design with a single USB 2.0 connector. In order to make use of this connector you find a microUSB to USB cable in the delivery apart from a manual.

Conclusion

The design of the Fuel+ is clean and simple. Patriot actually has seven different models of the Fuel each one of them comes in a solid box. Apart from that the dimensions vary, since there are models with a smaller or larger battery pack. The Fuel+ 2200, which we've tested here, weighs 63 grams and measures 9.9 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm. On the side, it features a power button with a small LED indicator that shows four different states of battery charge: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. Regarding the connectors, there is a microUSB on a side for charging the Fuel+ and one USB2.0 port on the other side for charging your phone, tablet or any other device.

Depending on the model of your Fuel+ and on the battery capacity as well as the device you are charging, you will be able to do a decent number of charges. We tested the Fuel+ 2200 with the Motorola Moto G (2070 mAh) and we managed to squeeze out one complete charge. The battery on the phone was completely flat before charging and we think this is a good result from such a small external battery pack. The Fuel+ also comes with a pass-through feature, which allows you to charge a device connected to the Fuel+ and at the same time charge the Fuel+. In addition, Patriot included also a safeguard against under-discharge, over-charge, and short-circuit, with built-in protection to ensure efficient and safe charging cycles.

As we already mentioned, there are several models for every kind of pocket and wallet. Checking on Geizhals, we find the Patriot Fuel+ 2200 with a starting price of 20 EUR excluding shipping costs. If you are looking for a small power bank, which is capable of completely recharging todays smartphones, the Fuel+ 2200 is definitely a good product.

We give the Patriot Fuel+ 2200 good 4 out of 5 stars.
